“We did the pasta making class tonight and it was incredible!! Eloise, Luke and Jess looked after us so well the whole night, they were super personable and knowledgeable. It was heaps of fun and amazing value for money. We got so much food and two cocktails, plus our homemade pasta to take home all covered in our class cost. Highly recommend to anyone who wants a fun date or girls night!!”

The food is incredibly flavorful and beautifully presented. We had breakfast here, and you could truly say it’s a breakfast for champions! “⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (If I could, I’d give 20 stars!) We came here for dinner and it was absolutely amazing from start to finish. The wine was excellent, but what really stood out was the incredible service. I wish I remembered the name of the gentleman who looked after us: he was outstanding. He explained the menu with such honesty, knowledge, and enthusiasm, and it was clear he had a deep understanding of both the dishes and the restaurant itself. We were unsure what to order because everything looked so good and we couldnt decide as we wanted to try everything. he guided us perfectly, giving thoughtful recommendations and going above and beyond to make sure we chose what suited us best. Even though the restaurant was full, he was attentive, quick, and genuinely warm smiling the whole time and clearly enjoying what he does. It’s rare to find service like that these days. The food was just as impressive. We had a meat dish (piatto con carne) that was one of the best mains I’ve ever had in Auckland, cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. The linguine pasta was also delicious. But the star for me was the olive ascolane: even better than the ones I’ve had in Italy. For dessert, the cannoli was outstanding, the perfect sweet ending to an unforgettable meal. Even when it came time to pay, the staff were friendly, accommodating, and made us feel welcome right up until the very end. We truly enjoyed every moment of our experience here and will definitely be back. Highly, highly recommended!”

“We had a great dinner! New menus are absolutely stunning. It's good that the Crispy Pork Belly was back in the menu with a refreshig sauce and I love the braised cabbage. The staff are friendly and accomodating. Thank you!”

“Not only is the food at Sake Nippon Bar delicious, but the portion sizes are ideal. We ate a range of dishes, but my personal favourite was the chicken katsu. The chicken was fresh, flavourful and crunchy. The service is excellent. Food is served promptly. The atmosphere is conducive to conversation. However, on other occasions, it has been quite loud.”

“Dropped in for the $10 lunch. It was simple, but very tasty and exceptional value - rice, omelet, choice of a vegetable dish. Really good value for money. I don't know many places where you can feed yourself for $10 for lunch. Cute interior design. Lots of space for groups of all sizes and people dining alone. A bunch of people turned up after us, so looks popular. The menu looks great, will come back another time to try it.”

“We stumbled upon this place after waiting too late to go to a restaurant, and so glad we did because the food was awesome! So many vegan options! They had multiple vegan pizza options, and multiple kebab/iskender options too! I got a vegan chicken kebab with vegan aioli, it was bloody lovely! The staff were very nice too, absolutely recommend!”

“Nice Italian restaurant with GF Pasta and Pizza. Pasta portions are huge, I‘ve struggled eating up the main size and ordered this time an entree size, which was a full size portion too. Also nice Italian wines to go with your meal. I can recommend Sangovese. Definitely a nice place to dine in. Bookings might be helpful as this place is well visited”

“Wanted pizza and never had been here before and glad we did. Ordered a half half margarita and New Yorker pizza. Seasoning and sauce is flavourful. Not too salty. Could do with more base sauce as it was a little dry but could easily fix with extra sauce option. The dietary options of cheese and gluten free bases is better than I expected. Vegan cheese options. I liked the multiple options of flavours which covered traditional and gourmet flavours. Didn’t get a milkshake but I will next time I get a pizza there.”

“With so many pizza place to choose from around Takapuna I chose this one. It is delicious and affordably priced for these kinds of pizza that are not dominoes or Pizza Hut pizzas. Great flavour profiles and quick to be made and quick to be eaten. I itch their loyalty you will be loyal and try and order as many pizzas so you can get a free pizza and start ordering and eating all over again.”

“My partner went to this shop to pick up sandwiches for our holiday brunch, and it turned out to be such a unique place. It reminded me of my previous trip to Japan, with its cute interior design and cozy atmosphere bringing back fond memories. We ordered a Pork Katsu sandwich and a Daishi Eggplant and Mushroom sandwich. The katsu was impressively large and, although it cost around $15, the size was more than satisfying. It tasted great too. The eggplant sandwich was also delicious. I never imagined eggplant would pair so well with sandwich bread, but it was a fantastic idea. This place truly stands out, and I highly recommend it.”

“My wife and I celebrated our 25th (Silver) Wedding Anniversary with a meal here. The food, service, and atmosphere were great. The view out over the Waitākere Ranges was beautiful, despite the overcast evening. It was unfortunate that we were unable to have our preferred and reserved outdoor seating, due to the verandah being inaccessible for wheelchairs.”

“Wow this is a return visit to this intimate dining venue after a few years. This time I was with my family. The portion sizes are generous. We had three small dishes and three mains with three sides. The small dishes were larger than expected. Pork, prawns and fish tartar all different but delicious. For a main I had the sweet and sour pork belly, this my go to dinner choice and it was mind blowing. I have rarely had a dish that was so perfectly balanced between rich salty pork and the sour sauce, I was in heaven. The duck fried rice and beef curry were rich and flavourful. No one had food envy and there was enough to share, we all loved it. Cocktails were lovely too, high recommended dinner experience. I'll let the photos speak for the cosy intimate atmosphere.”
