   Ambrosia is such an understated gem. The food and service are always excellent, and the prices are very reasonable for the quality you get. Portions are generous, which is always a plus! My family and I especially love going for their Sunday roasts — only $25 and it even includes a drink of your choice. Always delicious, great value, and consistently a wonderful experience.

   We recently moved to Beachlands and had several good value meals there and all of them were nice and tasty. Some of the pastries offered are very nice and the New York Cheese cake really stands out . The roast dinners on Sunday night are a nice home cooked experience, very tasty and again excellent value. The service provided is unobtrusive and nothing is too much for Sudeep always very friendly and helpful. All I can say “never judge a book by its cover”!!

   We came after a local, family members recommendation. The prices were reasonable and the menu was full of interesting combinations of culinary delights. Not only was the food well presented it was extremely flavoursome. Served quickly and still pipping hot. We had a glass of nice, quality house wine, Served in a nice large wine glass. Just what we needed for a birthday dinner treat. We travelled a long way from home but will definitely make the trip again with the whole family. Thank you to the hosts and staff.

   We can't say enough good things about this restaurant. We ate there more than any other place in Beachlands. Food was always great. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. We travel the world full time and this place had some of the best Lamb Rogan Josh I've ever had. My wife loved the Salmon Risotto dish as well. As you can see by the pics, we ate there a few times. Well worth the visit if you're hungry and in the area.

   Went to the beach nearby and decided to have lunch here, enough street parkings for everyone. Outdoor seatings are nice and comfy, feels relaxed when sitting there, holiday mode is "on". Indoor seatings are okay, feels like average kiwi restaurant in a small town (if you get out of Auckland you'll see lots of similar places like this) Food is nice, price about medium range. Staffs are friendly which is always a plus. Good for a visit if you are coming around to Beachland.

   Have been coming to Ambrosia for years now and it's always been awesome. Feel like we got ripped off tonight though. My wife ordered the full rack of ribs and requested for the chips to come in a separate bowl. Photo of ribs attached. Definitely NOT a full rack unless a full rack is now the size of a half rack. I approached and asked two different waiters about this issue and they both brushed it off saying its a normal size. We felt embarrassed and didn't want to make a bigger issue out of it. To rub salt in it all, as we walked out, we saw a gentleman eating what looked like double the amount of ribs and chips we were served. Very disappointed we got charged for the full rack amount but received such a little amount of food. $36.50! For maybe 5 rib pieces and not even a handful of chips. Will change review if Ambrosia fix this up with us. Cheers.

   Open late at night, we went close to 930-10pm. Good service, all the staff were lovely. Ordered the chicken wings, chips, chicken ravioli, butter scallops, butter chicken and lamb vindaloo. Chicken wings had a nice hot sauce drizzled on them however were a bit dry and could have done with more sauce on it. Lamb vindaloo was far from a vindaloo, was realistically more like roganjosh. We did confirm that they got the order correct and it was meant to be vindaloo and they said that's what it is, so if you're looking for vindaloo, probably best not to get it here. All the other dishes ordered were great! Ravioli was delicious. One odd part we thought was ambrosia not being on the dessert menu. Ambiance was great. All the staff were friendly with welcoming smiles on their faces. I would definitely go there again!
