“Favourite omurice spot in the city! Yoshizawa is a quaint restaurant located on the side of a busy street. Everytime I walk in the warm smell of curry, beef, rice and chicken makes me salivate. Friendly and quiet staff, perfect if you're an introvert like me. Highly recommend getting one of their omurices, super fluffy and slurpy eggs over hot fried rice (be careful!) And wow oh wow, the curry. It is so rich and strong, well seasoned and creamy that when you pair it with the egg and rice... Absolute banger. Chef's kiss. 10/10, peak restaurant.”
“We found service just a little slow, but understandable as restaurant was full. Food was excellent. Even the starters were great, def made here not just frozen and reheated. Very happy with our experience here. Happy customers will definitely be back :)”
“I found this great little Thai spot in Otahuhu. They have delicious food, especially the curry puff, fish cake, and chicken satay. The Penang curry and Seafood Pad Thai were really tasty too. The place is really clean inside, and the staff is so friendly. I will definitely be going back to try something new next time.”
“Great vibe. Right by the marina so good views outside. Staff were run off their feet with work Xmas party’s but they were fantastic. Steak eye fillet was really good. Generous portions and good value. Will go again for sure.”
“The Pad Thai Chicken and Green Curry Chicken on Rice was absolutely divine! Tasted authentic with the right amount of flavour and spice. The staff were very friendly. We come here nearly every year to celebrate our anniversary. The only downside was that the takeaway spilled all over the bag and my car because it had a crack, but otherwise, was great!”
“We had such a beautiful meal here for two, restaurant is very authentic and service was great. The vegetarian lasagna was amazing and best I have had in Auckland also my husband had the meat lovers pizza which was very good! We finished off with the baklava for dessert which was lovely. I would definitely recommend.”
“It is our favourite restaurant but we have always ordered via Uber Eats. We are due to visit them in person, but their food is phenomenal! When they had to close for a bit we were so sad!”
“I can’t believe there’s a Thai vegan restaurant with no onion and garlic… got my heart pumping, ordered som-tom salad and Tom Kha Gai soup with jasmine rice…. Yumo yumo”
“The food was just spectacular. Every bite was another indulgent flavor to experience. I personally enjoyed the Lemon Leek Risotto, it was tangy and perfectly cheesy. The service was so nice and friendly. I sure felt welcome to have the delicious food. The setting is very cute if you enjoy two spaces coming together nicely. If not such a fan of the bar there is a more divided section of tables not visible to the bar. Both settings were very enjoyable. The walk into the restaraunt was very cute and gave me a good feeling, and the feeling was right! Enjoy your food and place at the same time. I really recommend it!”
“We had the most fantastic experience at Mudbrick - I highly recommend visiting! Brooke did our tasting, she was so friendly and knowledgeable and made us feel very comfortable. The wine was absolutely delicious (we went for the “Waiheke Tasting” and we loved all four of the wines). We sat outside, the views were incredible across the island and Auckland in the background. The waiting staff were friendly and the food was absolutely delicious and so aesthetically pleasing. The foccacia was the best I’ve ever tasted!”
“Spur of the moment restaurant choice before a show......and excellent choice! Lovely food, friendly & helpful staff. Would recommend to everyone for central CBD restaurant. Reasonably priced & great service.”
“We usually come on Fridays and always have a great experience. The food is delicious every time, the service is friendly and consistent, and it’s BYO wine which makes it even better. One of our favourite local spots!”
“We went for lunch & it was a delicious experience! The restaurant was light & inviting- the new renovations looked very good. I ordered the mango lassi & the spices in the drink was great! I really enjoyed the theatrics of the mix platter starter too, it came out on a sizzling plate & tasted delish. The stand out dish for me was the chicken korma, the nutty cashew sauce was amazing! Highly recommend. The naan were also very fresh. Will definitely be back again to try other dishes!!! ☺️”
“Everything about our visit was genuinely impressive. The service was some of the best I’ve experienced in a long time - attentive without being overbearing, and the staff made us feel welcomed from the moment we arrived. The atmosphere was also a standout. It had a great vibe, plenty of space, and a comfortable layout with good distance between tables, which is something we really value when choosing where to dine. The only downside for me was the braised pork. It was a bit on the chewy side and didn’t fall apart the way I’ve had it at other places, so it didn’t quite meet the standard of the rest of the meal. Other than that small issue, everything else was excellent. The overall experience was great, and I’ll definitely be returning.”
“This is one of the finest restaurants in Auckland city. I seldom write reviews about restaurants. My brother was a chef and you have to be pretty good to impress me. It is a popular Middle-Eastern and South-West Asian restaurant with authentic and traditional dishes. It is the "chef that makes the restaurant", not the other way round. The dishes were outstanding! I have just come back from Melbourne city and they blow away the competition over there. They win hands down, nobody comes even close to them. I had Tabouleh which comes from modern-day Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Palestine, and Israel. It is a staple in Lebanese cuisine and has been a part of Middle Eastern culinary traditions for centuries. Greek salad, snapper and lamb. Every dish was fantastic!”
“A great little find off the main road on Parnell. It was very quiet which was nice for us as a family of 5. Had really generous sized meals packed with lots of flavour. The drinks were nice and cold I enjoyed the passion fruit mojito. Our children loved their meals just a bit large for them. The lunch specials were delicious and very lovely service from the hosts. Reasonable pricing for quality meals.”
“I went there a Friday night and the place was quite crowded. It seem to be quite popular. I had a butter chicken, tikka chicken fries and garlic naan. It was a really good place, I really liked the environment as well as the food, which was really nice. The staff were really nice. I recommend this place.”
“We had our wedding at this venue and it was perfect from start to finish. The spaces are beautiful, the layout flows effortlessly for ceremony, photos, and reception, and the food & bar service were outstanding. A special shout-out to Abigail, the venue manager—she was phenomenal. From our first visit she was organised, warm, and incredibly responsive, offering practical suggestions that elevated the day (timelines, room setup, wet-weather backup. On the day, Abigail and her team ran a smooth, stress-free event so we could focus on our guests. Multiple people told us it was a great venue, and we agree. If you’re considering this venue, book the tour and ask for Abigail—you’ll be in the best hands.”
“Was just passing by and thought it looked tasty in the window so came back for dinner and wow ! It's been a long time since I've had a steak so good. I ordered the Pacific steak which is a filet mignon stuffed with crab and topped with prawns and béarnaise sauce and there wasn't a slither of fat on it, was cooked just right and I really enjoyed it. The decor is cute I was reading the menu about Tony's story being the og steakhouse of Auckland and he said it was English pub inspired, as a Brit who hasn't been home in 4 months I enjoyed that (speaking of it was so much cheaper than what we'd pay in England for a steak) I also found the staff really nice, didn't catch their names but they were nice and friendly”
“Amazing food so yummy and excellent service excellent ambiance and unique delicious food items on the menu must try highly recommended”
“Namunamuaa te kai! Huge shoutout for the amazing service! We rocked up 10 minutes before closing, and even though everything had been turned off, the owners and staff welcomed us in so warmly and whipped up a beautiful fettuccine. Then 15 minutes later, one of our whaanau turned up—and they didn’t think twice about firing things up again to make another. Truly above and beyond. Thanks so much for the warm vibes and delicious kai!”
“This was our first time visiting, and it was such a treat. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly and the menu had a great selection to choose from. We really enjoyed the shared dishes, and the guidance on serving sizes. Everything we ordered was delicious. My faves were the prawn toast and crispy aubergine. We’ll definitely be back.”
“Delish, fresh meals in a bowl. So super yummy one of my fav places to go”
“I ordered the tantan ramen. It was so flavourful and delicious. It is easily one of the best tantan ramens I have ever eaten. I will definitely be returning to this restaurant just for this dish! The service was excellent and so was the atmosphere.”
“The restaurant had a cozy atmosphere,Ramen so yammy.I love it.❤️”
“Decided to have Indian lunch after watching a documentary about Indian cuisines. We have ordered here before and knew that their food was amazing. It was my first time to order lamb biryani, chicken rara and tandoori platter. Usually I order the one I'm most familiar with (which is butter chicken) but today I wasn't disappointed with my lunch. It was very flavorful and everything tastes authentic. There's only 2 of us in the house but we got leftovers for dinner and tomorrow's lunch. Let's all support Nz businesses at this tough covid times.”
“Came here for lunch over the long weekend. Tried the coffee and tea combo with condensed milk which was so yummy. The chicken satay was good especially the sauce with it. The fish curry and the beef rendang were so yummy. Definitely get the coconut rice and anchovy sambal. I also got the fried fish which was nice but I wanted it more spicy. If you haven’t been here do so the couple that runs it are so passionate about the food and really value every person that walks through the door”
The kitchen at Gastronomics Restaurant Cafe & Bar takes a simple, bistro‑style path and lets the food speak. A sensible spend for the spread. Service stays present without fuss. Meals reach the pass promptly.
“New fave Chinese restaurant in Browns bay. Skewers were moist and delicious. Xiaolongbao was surprisingly very good (much better than many north shore places) but the scallion noodles was the best. Highly recommend”
“If you're looking for the best local Italian restaurant, this is it! The atmosphere has an authentic old-school vibe that feels warm and welcoming. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, making the entire dining experience enjoyable from start to finish. The food is outstanding – from traditional pasta dishes to hearty mains, everything is cooked to perfection. And the pizzas? Simply amazing! Perfectly crispy crust, fresh toppings, and just the right amount of cheese. Whether you're out for a casual meal or celebrating a special occasion, this place never disappoints. Highly recommend it to anyone craving authentic Italian flavors!”
