“Absolutely loved the roast meal here! The meat was tender and cooked to perfection, with a beautiful golden crust. The highlight for me was the gravy—it was rich, flavorful, and tied everything together so well. The vegetables were fresh and perfectly seasoned, and the portion size was generous. The decor has recently been revamped and is really nice. The menu is comprehensive and reasonably priced. There is also a BYO option for the budget conscious. “I came in today, 2nd August 2025, and honestly, I just had to leave a review because the experience was that good. Right from the moment I walked in, the staff were so welcoming and friendly. You could tell they actually cared about making sure we were comfortable and happy. Service was fast, smooth, and super polite. It’s rare these days to see people go the extra mile, but the team here really did — and it made a big difference. Now about the food — wow. I’m not even exaggerating when I say everything was so fin’ good*. Packed with flavour, cooked perfectly, and served hot and fresh. Every bite just hit the spot. You can tell the kitchen takes pride in what they do, because the quality was honestly next level. I wasn’t even that hungry when I walked in, and still ended up eating way more than I expected — it was that tasty. I don’t usually write long reviews, but this place deserves it. “Looking for a breakfast place around takapuna after a pedia visit and tried Leaf & Loaf. Overall experience is excellent and lively, friendly staff. My fussy little one loved the blueberry pancakes. The rest of the food are awesome. Though I prefer boiling hot coffee but with the weather, it's acceptable food gets a little cold quicker. Highly recommend this place.”

“Just moved here, and I got suggested this place. What a setup. Really love it. Very spacious, workers are awesome to talk to, and the local people that I spoke to are very social. Good vibes. Was told to try their pizza and hot dog, so I did. - Brownzy dog 7.9/10 2 for $5 is great value. They're not spectacular. However, they're perfect while watching live sports and are arranged quite well. Delicious to eat. - Meat lovers pizza 7.5/10 $10 isn't too bad too, good size to share. At this point, I was a bit drunk and vacuuming the whole thing to sober up, but it was good for a bar snack. Prefer the brownzy dogs over this.”

“The place is just a replica of BBQ nation outlet in India. First they serve you all the BBQ dishes (Unlimited) like Chicken, fish, prawn, pineapple and Kumara. They also serve fried fish and potato with sause. You can then go ahead and enjoy the buffet food which has Indian and continental dish (just one). Overall the experience was very amazing and great service. The food was delicious and restaurant beautiful ambient set up gives a very relaxed atmosphere while enjoy the soft music in background. But expensive but worth a try. Good for family and big groups. Try for Groupon voucher to get a good deal and save some bucks.”

“Ive been here a few times and each brings me back! I love a good Larb Salad, and theirs is very good!!! But the star today was the Chiang Mai noodles. OMG it was amazing. Khao Soi is the actual name for this particular curry, but it comes from northern Thailand, and reminded me of my visit to Chiang Mai, hence the name! I must have this again!!!! “Connie and I came for two nights and accidentally stayed for the vibes. Somehow won a ridiculous amount of Jack Daniel’s merch (pretty sure we’re sponsored now), met absolute legends of locals, and were made to feel welcome from minute one. Food was genuinely great. Drinks flowed. The banter, however… truly terrible. World-class hospitality, bottom-tier jokes, and honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way. Left with full stomachs, new friends, and more Jack Daniel’s branding than anyone should admit to. Would 100% return.”

“I've been there a few times a couple years ago until The Light Horse closed down. This used to be The Light Horse. Good location from my place. Food is still good. But How sad it is that they don't open on weekend. I hope they open on weekend. Will be back with friends.”

My partner enjoyed the vegetarian pasta, and my dad and mum both loved their dishes: the eye fillet melted in his mouth, and the crumbed chicken was delicious too. Service was excellent also. “This place has position, a great bar and restaurant with a locals / marina vibe. Clean and new, the menu has something for everyone. The mussels were incredible. Service is quick and attentive. Being a DB tied place, the usual selection of beer from there is on. Good wine list. If I was a local, this would be my local. It’s even got a sports screen pod which I guess is a good distraction for those that don’t want to converse. I love the bar stools at the bar too - an opportunity for this place to create a real locals vibe. Great stuff! Go here..”
