“The only thing bad about Raglan Boat Charters is that eventually it'll end and you'll have to go home - and that will be a sad time. Raglan Boat Charters is a great experience. The staff are amazing, friendly, informative, helpful, will bend over backwards to help you out or get you on a tour. We did the sunset tour on a perfect night and it was a blast. In a truly Kiwi experince, Fish and Chips were delivered before we left - the perfect entree to what was to come. We took a tikitour around the Raglan harbour where the sights were enjoyed and the history of the harbour explained. Birdlife was plentiful, as were the stingray! The Captain gave us a few of his secret fishing spots - but you have to do the tour if you want to find out more about that. As we cruised around, a wicked soundtrack of sing-along party hits played and created a really fun atmosphere. The cruise was more than 90 minutes - incredible value for money and an experience you'll be wanting to repeat quickly! 10 stars.”

“Always awesome. As a couple we would visit Bootleg at least monthly and each visit is just a great experience. The venue is comfy, rustic, an excellent example of giving life into an old building. The staff go out of their way to welcome us and free tastings are part of the experience. I am not an avid craft beer drinker, but there are so many other options, cider/sours/ lagers...the rhubarb cider when on tap is amazing. Thanks Bootleg team”

“Lovely atmosphere. Didn’t feel like we were shouting over the noise that other restaurants have, it was good noise wise as I had a raging sore throat so was great that I don’t lose my voice. Me and dad had the beef Wellington and it was cooked to perfection we didn’t need to use steak knives as the normal knives cut like butter. The desserts my sister, dad and I had was very good. The bread was very fresh and hot. Love it so much would definitely recommend to everyone.”

“Amazing experience!! I went there with my family and we all felt we stepped into another world! The place is exactly like the movie scenes from Lord of the Rings and we all felt like we were the movie characters, moving through the place. It really is like walking into a fantasy realm, the houses are all so small and looks like only dwarf or smurf can live inside. But surprisingly, they let us visit inside one of the houses and all the movie props were preserved so well! Everything was so lifelike and some of the props such as the cooking pot was shaking and even had steam blowing out. The fire place was real too, with real wood and real fire. At first i thought it was a fake fire made of paper but when i walked over and felt the heat, o realised it was a real fire!! It's definitely a must visit tourist spot, highly recommend!!”

“Ordered the chilli scram and it was really good! The spring onions and chillis were a great addition, and added depth and flavour to the dish. The scrambled eggs themselves were velvety and delicious, and the sourdough underneath was buttered and toasted to perfection. The rest of the table seemed to really enjoy their meals as well! The atmosphere here is lively but not too loud, so none of us struggled to have conversations and hear one another. Overall, a great experience and we'll be back :)”

“I took a group of 8 ladies to Alpino on Saturday for a Luxe Day Out for my business Her Luxe Travel and we had a phenomenal time. Not only were Alpino great to work with to set up how I wanted the experience, on the day they delivered 110%. The food was to die for, service was friendly and efficient. We were sat in the area at the front that is somewhat closed off from the rest of the restaurant and it couldn't have been more perfect. Definitely glad I've chosen Alpino for my Retreat welcome lunches ☺️”

“Lookout Bar has a great vibe – awesome views, friendly staff, and solid food. The smoked pizza was seriously good – crispy base, great flavour, and that smoky touch really makes it stand out. Seafood was super fresh, especially the prawns and calamari – cooked just right. Only downside was the sauce on a couple of dishes – felt a bit heavy and overpowered the natural flavours. Would’ve been perfect with just a lighter touch. Still, a great place to relax with a drink and enjoy the view. Worth a visit, especially if you’re into bold flavours and casual coastal dining.”

Plates were flavorful, spicy dishes were not overly hot, portions were suitable for sharing, and standard serves of 3 pieces could be made 4 to match our table number. A standout was the cocktail menu, with combinations I’ve not seen before leaving me wondering how to choose 2 when I really wanted to try 4. The space is flexible with indoor, outdoor and standing areas, but book outdoors if the weather is good and the temperature is warm. Would recommend and would dine there again. “Great little place, very friendly staff and the the food was phenomenal. I ordered the chicken tacos, Hubby wanted the Hawaiian burger but they were out of pineapple. The server recommended their top two sellers and he went with the Korean Chicken burger and it was fantastic. It was like a buffalo chicken without the heat. Portions were very large too. We were surprised with the complex yet light flavors and hinestly did not expect that from this quaint looking little place. The atmosphere could use a little more sprucing to reflect the great quality of the food but other than that, no complaints!”
