Service was a little slower, but probably to less staff working late at night Food tasted good, for our large group there happened to be one hot hot hot pot which had beansprouts inside even though it wasn't ordered Large menu with a variety of items, surely something for everyone! Not the cheapest but food tastes good!

A Chinese mate invited me here for dinner. After reading the online review's (from the last year) I was nervous to say the least. The bbq food was great though, really enjoyed it and I’m a big fan of the chicken/potato/pasta dishes and always order them. There was so much food for the two of us, we were there for a couple of hours to get through it and couldn’t. I really enjoyed it. I don’t speak Chinese but could muddle through with pointing on the menu. I’m presuming it’s changed a lot of the last year.
I was hospitalized with food poisoning from eating here. Now they have been given a D grade. They should be shut down immediately they are a danger to the public.
Recently received a D grade from Council food and hygiene inspectors. D grade means that something about the way that they store or prepare food is unacceptable with health implications and they need to improve in order to continue serving customers. They will have made some improvements if they are currently open for business. Please consult the latest hygiene grade which should be displayed close to the entrance to the business.
I have been a regular customer of the base bar & grill, visiting at least twice a month over the past year. Ever since I first started coming here, there is a reason why fewer and fewer (non-Chinese) people are coming to eat at the base bar & grill. As many mentioned, really unfriendly staff especially if you are not Chinese. The staff doesn't speak English very well and will be very curt to you if you can't speak Chinese. They would just slam the food on the table and talk to you with an annoyed tone when taking orders. Plus, other people would just start smoking just outside the entrance and you would have to smell cigarettes while you eat. Not very fun. Overall: Food: 4/5 Vibe: 1/5 Service: 1/5 Wouldn't recommend this place unless you can speak Chinese / do not mind rude service. It's a shame because I really liked the food at this place. However, after having experienced bad service (even after being a regular here for over a year now) I will probably go elsewhere for skewers.
I visited the restaurent and the staff working there was very rude. When I was asked what time the store would close, the kiwi woman and the short hair Chinese woman just standing at the counter glared at me as if they were looking at me. And when I asked where to sit at the table, they laughed at me and ignored me. They didn't answer to me. Even if the food was delicious, I would never go with that attitude of the staff. The employee's attitude toward customers must be corrected
