“Lovely unassuming little coffee house. Friendly staff, nice peaceful atmosphere. Very reasonable on the pocket.”
“A lovely friendly cafe in a great location. Excellent coffee and delicious food. Customer Service was fantastic the man behind the counter really knows how to be welcoming and attentive towards his customers. Vety well done. Will definitely be going back.”
“We used House of Chocolate for our customer Christmas gifts this year and we couldn't recommend them more! Really easy to work with, fantastic and beautiful products to choose from, they allowed us to customise the sleeve to match our branding and very quickly packed and sent the gifts out for us. Thanks to the House of Chocolate team!”
“The team at The Gateau House Albany branch were extremely helpful for a last minute purchase. They help with making suggestions and provided an excellent service. I will highly recommend people to visit this place! ☺️”
“Pak’nSave Albany is one of the bigger branches on the North Shore, and it definitely shows. The store is spacious, fairly modern, and usually well-stocked, making it a popular choice for families and bulk shoppers. It keeps to the classic Pak’nSave model — low prices, minimal decor, and a focus on practicality over presentation — but the Albany location feels a bit more polished than some of the older ones. The layout is easy to follow, with wide aisles and clear signage, so you’re not bumping trolleys every few seconds. The shelves are usually full, especially earlier in the day, and there’s a decent range of both budget brands and the more well-known labels. Prices are, as expected, very competitive. You’ll find good specials across most departments, and if you’re shopping for a big household, it’s one of the better options to keep costs down. The fresh produce section is generally reliable. Some days the quality is top notch, other times it’s more average — pretty normal for Pak’nSave. The meat section offers good value and a decent selection, and the bakery is basic but has all the essentials. There’s also a reasonable selection of international foods, which reflects the local community well. Staff are usually friendly enough, though it’s mostly a self-service experience unless you go looking for help. Checkout times are fairly efficient, with a good number of lanes open during busy periods and a decent set of self-service checkouts for smaller shops. The carpark is big, but it does fill up, especially on weekends. That said, it’s well laid out and doesn’t feel like a fight to find a spot, even when it’s busy. Being close to other stores and amenities makes it easy to combine errands in one trip. One thing to note, like at other Pak’nSaves, is that what’s advertised online might not always match what’s in store, so it’s worth shopping with a bit of flexibility. All up, Pak’nSave Albany is a good choice if you want decent prices, a clean store, and enough space to do a full shop without feeling crammed in. It’s practical, reliable, and does exactly what you’d expect — no frills, just solid savings.”
“I absolutely loved your Portuguese tarts — they were the best! I’ve been looking for them lately but can’t seem to find them. Where have they gone? Hope to see them back soon!”
“Good quality food with really friendly services. Good store size. Heaps of parking and right by the motorway exit. Good values too when on specials. Recommending a visit if you have been.”
“I went to countdown ponsonby deli and I must say I had an amazing experience. Well done Lucky, for serving your customers so well!! I asked for a special request for the sandwich and he was very kind and patient with how I wanted my food, he was working alone in deli, shame on the management for making the poor guy work all alone in deli, having to handle the kitchen but also the customers, well done lucky keep it up! Enjoyed my food a lot❣️”
“Ok...I have to admit, it was not my intention to come here. I was really looking for The Grove and since they were closed this was right next door and up stairs. What an adorable place with a variety of fresh foods, filtered water, charming ambiance and a full bar of coffee, alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks. No AC but the seating area is charming overlooking the near by park and church. And did I mention free wifi.”
“What a cute cafe! The adorable barista Aria was so helpful and her energy was a breath of fresh air! She had above and beyond service.”
“Guy making coffee was great. Staff are always good here. Good gluten free options.”
“Very impressed! Very busy with locals, truckies and tradies, always a sign of good food and service. A real value for money place to either stop and eat or pick up yummy, tasty cabinet food. Keep an eye out on the main road for it, especially if you have the kids with you. Good old icecreams and milkshakes too. Spotlessly clean, as are the toilets.”
“Pak’nSave Silverdale is a well-sized, tidy store that serves the wider Hibiscus Coast area and does a solid job of it. It’s not flashy or overly modern, but it’s practical and clean, with that familiar warehouse-style layout that Pak’nSave is known for. If you’re after low prices without the bells and whistles, it ticks the right boxes. The store is spacious and easy to navigate, even during busier times. Aisles are wide, shelves are usually well-stocked, and signage is clear enough to help you find what you need without wandering too much. The overall vibe is no-frills, but things generally run smoothly and efficiently. Prices are sharp across the board — groceries, meat, produce, and household items all come in at the lower end, especially if you keep an eye out for specials. The fruit and veg section can be a bit hit or miss depending on the day you visit, but most of the time it’s decent. The meat section usually has a good range at affordable prices, and the bakery offers the basics like bread, rolls, and a few sweet treats. Staff are usually around if you need help, but it’s a typical Pak’nSave setup — more of a DIY experience. Most people are just in and out, focused on the shop, so don’t expect high-touch service. That said, checkout lines move fairly quickly and self-service options help if you’re only picking up a few things. The carpark is decent with a fair amount of space, though it can get full during peak shopping times, especially weekends. The location is handy too, close to other shops in the area, so it’s easy to tick off errands in one go. As with other Pak’nSaves, the online listings don’t always match what’s in-store, so it’s best to go in with a flexible list rather than expecting everything to be there. Overall, Pak’nSave Silverdale is a dependable local spot. It’s not fancy, but it’s clean, roomy, and delivers on what really matters — saving money. If you’re in the area and want to stock up without spending too much, it’s worth the stop.”
“Fully stocked grocery store. Nice guy too”
“I ordered from this bakery a while back on uber. They were not very good so I didn't order again until very recently. They have to have new bakers or owners because the food quality has changed dramatically for the better. Classic bakery food done really well for a great price. Has become a new favourite of mine. I always judge a bakery by the quality of their custard slice and this is one of the few that make a real, proper one. Highly recommend.”
“Beautiful home cooked food and also has a restaurant menu. Top country-side café that I've been to. Coming here very day while I'm working in Waitoki”
“Great place with friendly, accommodating, courteous and generous staff members complimented with good and yummy food. Although they don't have chips/fries, their rosti is definitely the better replacement. Very accessible being adjacent to the train station as well as having plenty of parking spaces. The public playgrounds next-door make this a great option to bring your children along.”
“My new favourite! The store itself is a little cramped, but I have been there 3 or 4 times now to try different things - absolutely delicious every time :)”
“Absolutely delighted with our experience at 21 Grams! A hidden gem that’s both kid-friendly and seriously satisfying for the grown-ups. From the moment we stepped in, the warm aroma of freshly baked pastries mixed with rich coffee was simply irresistible. The menu offered fantastic dietary options, which made it easy to find something for everyone — even the picky eaters. My kids loved their meals and drinks (yes, they’re still talking about them), and I was genuinely impressed by the quality and flavor in every bite. If you’re looking for a spot that delivers on taste, comfort, and family-friendly vibes — this is it. A must-visit that we’ll definitely be returning to.”
“Great food, felt like I was back in the Middle East. Loads of food in a eat all you can buffet.for $30. Food was fresh and tasty, was very busy but they squeezed us in on a Saturday night. It's an eat and go type place, you godforsaken the food rather than the atmosphere. Would recommend for those who love Lebanese.”
“New World is a reliable supermarket with a great balance of quality and variety. The fresh produce is always appealing and well stocked, and the bakery section has some delicious options. I appreciate the friendly staff who are helpful and make shopping easier. The store layout is clean and easy to navigate, making it simple to find what you need quickly. Prices are reasonable, and the weekly specials often include good deals on essentials. Overall, a solid choice for your regular grocery shop.”

“Countdown is great for its wide, clutter free isles, the comprehensive refrigerated fruit and vegetable selection, and the extensive range of products in every department. I especially appreciate being able to buy pin-boned salmon fillets.”
“Parking atrocious in front of store but extra parking at shopping centee area. Prices expensive but also some good things. Staff nice.”
“Amazing place to shop; you get everything you need under one roof. Better pricing than other competitors.”
“We can chill and spend our time choosing whatever. Nice and clean. Not too busy on weekdays. Self-service matching was very easy and had more options to use.”
