“A gem of a place, super delicious coffee and incredible cakes and pastries, we wanted to try everything and got a few different bits but the caramel, pear and walnut tart was a definite stand out. “What a wonderful place! Their restaurant food is amazing, with great portion sizes! Out of all 4 pictured meals, I can’t say I have a favourite because they were all great. They also have a great selection of cabinet food. The restaurant and cabinet food is naturally a little bit pricey but I am definitely not complaining! The only thing for me was that the iced matcha was very watered down with milk, and therefore was very milky which wasn’t the best. Also all the menus online need updating! They’re really busy most of the time (we were booked in at 11am) and the wait time for our meals and drink took about an hour, but they have a sign outside warning you about the wait time during peak hours. Their service is also really good, most especially from Mike who is just lovely and extremely friendly, and Julian who is nice also very friendly. Do I even have to talk about the atmosphere? I would especially recommend booking a table outside for a nice view out back. The cafe is situated right in the park in a beautiful Homestead and has a lovely little art gallery and shop. I would 100% recommend coming here!”

“Really nice place atmosphere qas really good, got the big cup and really good portions with good flavor. We used to go to Golden sands alot but this will be new breakfast place. Price $$ good for a breakfast place. Food was a really good portion and was tasty. Customer service was excellent. Only issue was the knives weren't really sharp so it struggled to cut the sour dough bread. Still great experience. Overall rating 5/5 would highly recommend.”

“First German restaurant for me and I have to say: I will come back. Me and my partmer had the plate A and even if it looks big, if you’re hungry don’t worry you’ll eat everything. Loved the sauce and the smashed potatoes, reminds me of my grandma’s one. I like the fact that you have tomatoes, coleslaw and other salads on free service. We also had the tab german beer and nothing to add you know just a tab beer. But the owner is really kind and gave us a good experience. Boyfriend here, I’ve been to Berlin and the taste is familiar. I vouch for this only german restaurant in West Auckland. Traditional I love it”

“Really lovely bakehouse. The energy there is just awesome. Buzzing with friendly people. We started conversations with people at 4 different tables. Had lots of laughs. Hubby and me never had an experience like that in cafe before. Food was really good. Priced well for the quality and size. Not fancy foods but more like home cooked foods and even do we are foodies we still enjoyed it and went back next day and grabbed sandwich and sausage roll. Sorry no photos of those as we finished it in a hurry but sandwich was packed with tasty filling and hubby said the sausage roll was the best he ever had. So there you go. If you not sure what to try definitely grab sausage roll. Coffee was excellent. Large size came in decent large mug and was hot and delicious.”

“Good place to get your bits and bobs for the kitchen if you are staying around the area. Had fresh produce as well and the prices for their other groceries are slightly cheaper than the bigger supermarkets. Open early and closes late as well so super convenient if you are in the area.”
