   The lady (an older Filipino lady) working at the self-checkout area was very disappointing. She was on duty around 11 a.m. on Friday, December 12, 2025. She checked my bag to see if I had stolen something simply because I didn’t purchase anything and walked through the self-checkout area (no goods were stolen). I was only accompanying my client and letting her check out independently to teach her life skills. Very degrading experience. I will check the name tag next time and will definitely report this.

   I highly recommend this store only for the bakery—the staff and quality of bread, cakes, and pastries are excellent. However, my recent experience with the rest of the store was very disappointing. Discounts on promotional items weren’t applied correctly, staff were unhelpful, and I was treated disrespectfully by the duty manager, including being wrongly accused of 2 missing items which was taken by Lady A as cashier change when I was back taking videos. The assistant store manager apologized and offered a solution, but my main concern was the poor service and lack of proper apology from the duty manager. Because of this, I am retracting my previous 5-star rating and giving the store 1 star for non-bakery shopping.

   Love the quality of the produce. The selection of goods is very good, and the service is excellent. We like New World Orewa- try the hot ham or pork belly. Oh and the filled rolls from the deli are made fresh every morning and are second to none!

   A big thank you to Steve and his team at New World Orewa. As a mental health charity, it means so much to see local businesses who genuinely care about their community. We ordered three platters for an event this morning, and the Deli team made the whole process simple and stress-free. The food was delicious, beautifully packaged and presented, and everything was ready on time. We are so grateful for the support and kindness shown to us—thank you to everyone in store for caring about the people around you.

   I came into your supermarket on Wednesday the 23rd August at about 10.30am , I did some shopping and I was wanting to use your facilities, I was met by a older female staff member with short blonde hair with makeup and she was so rude, in how she spoke to me, she said in a loud vulgar voice to go across the road, since I am from out of town, the tone and how she spoke to me was disgusting. She is not a person I would want on the front line representing my company.

   Great made-to-order birthday cakes, and they've improved the area near the counters to be less crowded. The alcohol area is organised in a way that you have to do a full circuit to make sure you've seen all beer options, even near the wines, which can be a little confusing.

   The worker names Emily H was the most helpful stuff there. She was kind and just very patient. Most workers aren't as kind as her so I'm really thankful. Recommend going to her whenever you need help.

   Great in-store experience. Best bakery selection and quality so far of last week’s travelling. Had the Custard Slice, really enjoyed it. Store layout very well done and great presentation. No sure on the pricing, no doubt more expensive than the cheaper supermarkets. But if you want a great store and then have your groceries packed into bags of your choice at the checkout, then be prepared to pay the extra and enjoy the quality service and experience.

   Big shout out to the team that operate the bakery, I love the products and the staff are always so friendly. Big shout out to Lucy who is always so friendly, polite and helpful. I purchased some donuts and mentioned they were for a friends daughter. She packaged them and kindly added a pink bow to the box. Those are the small helpful things that bring customers back again and again. Thanks team you’re amazing
