Best lamb dish I had in New Zealand, and I tried a few! The portion was so big and the sauces that come with it are just to die for! A good selection of cider as well!
Absolutely Delicious A Must-Try in Wellies! I went to The Tasting Room last night and honestly, everything was spot on! I had the Beef Wellington and it was phenomenal tender, juicy, full of flavour, and the pastry was cooked to perfection. One of the best I’ve had! My boyfriend had the steak meal and he absolutely loved it cooked exactly how he asked, and the sides were just as good. You can tell there’s real care put into the food here. The service was friendly and efficient, and the vibe was warm and lively without being too loud. We left full, happy, and already planning to come back. Highly recommend this place if you’re after a quality meal in central Wellington!
Popped in for lunch today and was pleasantly surprised by both the food and service! Staff were lovely and really helpful. Suggestions for the food, continuously cleaning up and bringing us drinks when they needed to be refilled. Food itself was really good. The squid wasn’t the greatest, but tacos and chips were awesome! Honestly a strong recommend from me!!!
We had an amazing time here! The food was incredible - decent prices, generous portions and beautiful well balanced flavours. The staff are really lovely and attentive, the atmosphere is welcoming and casual despite the high quality food. I couldn’t believe I’d actually ordered a salad and it was large, delicious, inventive and perfectly dressed. So many places give you a tiny bowl of leaves from a bag with some dry cabbage or carrot smothered in cheap oil - this was properly lovely, lush and fresh. The squid rings were delicious - though the sauce was a bit sweet for me. In general I would have loved some mayonnaise - this whole country insists on aioli… I’m not into garlic and love a proper, creamy fresh mayo, especially with chips. But in general this is the best meal I’ve had in Wellington. The lamb shank has a beautiful warmth to it - spiced with layers of fragrant flavours. We just had a fantastic time - so grateful to have discovered this spot and will definitely be back.
One of my favourite places for a quiet drink. The wine and beer list is absolutely extensive and there is something for everyone. All the staff I have encountered are super friendly and willing to give drink suggestions. Admittedly I am yet to try the food but I have no doubt it will be amazing.
Cozy place. I recommend the Beef Wellington Burger and the sharing platter. We went there for dinner on a public holiday. There was no holiday surcharge. What a saving!
The ambiance was cool. I was able to pre-order our food and hence saved time. I ordered chicken salsa and enjoyed it. Also, I heard from other colleagues that veggie burger n veg salad were good.
When I saw they served beef Wellington I knew I had to try it, we're in Wellington after all. It was on point but did fall apart very easily, definitely one of the better ones I had. The staff was really friendly and the place itself looked good, prices were fair and we had a great time!
It's a great place for friends or colleagues to meet and talk. They serve really good drinks and also have a good amount of burgers, starters, etc.. The platter is a must try with the onion rings, cauliflower fry, chicken, prawns and squid. Also they have a challenge to eat 5 hot wings where each wing gets hotter and hotter for 25$ challenge
