At Little Oneroa Takeaways, the menu stays classic fish‑and‑chips and no‑fuss. A coastal backdrop rounds out the stop. Fillets arrive fresh and the fry stays clean. Service stays present without fuss.
“Husband and I go there for the scrumptious food, pies, and service. Everything is cooked and baked on site, and the pies are to die for.”
“Simply the best Chinese food - all the dishes you normally get at your average Chinese take out but restaurant quality! Lovely people - very friendly and happy. And although we haven’t dined in yet, the restaurant side atmosphere is great. You won’t be disappointed.”
“I'm so sad about almost people order only chicken. Noodles was so great and perfect. Smoky flavor in soup and meat was so yum. In addition, they were so kind.”
“The people were friendly and patient. I have 2 small kids and I generally get a very "annoyed" vibe when they are rowdy and I did NOT get that at all. I love it. The food is fantastic. My family and I will most certainly be back.”
“This is how a sports bar should be. Clean, and well-presented with no drama. It's part of the community and several local groups hold meeting there. There are raffles and a fishing club. Even free bread from the local bakery on occasion. The beer is very well priced and although the menu is none existent you can bring in food from other establishments.”
“Jugnus’s Little India offers an authentic taste of India right on our doorstep. Their butter chicken is a sublime journey of flavors, and the street food options transport you straight to the bustling lanes of Delhi. For genuine Indian cuisine that tickles the taste buds, this is the place to be! Parking is easy to find and pay attention on the location, it is at the end of the motel’s driveway. Then the great smell will lead you to their door.”
“The staff here were very friendly and accommodating for my friend and I with our babies and they brought over a high chair for us. The coffee & food was awesome and came out so fast. We ordered the full vege grill (don’t mind all that pepper in the photo I did that lol) and the house hash with salmon. I would definitely come back here.”
“We had breakfast for four of us on Sunday morning, service was friendly and efficient. Meals were delicious and coffee was fantastic. A cool setting and displays were very funky. Will be back next time we visit Wellington.”
“I’m sorry but how have I never been here before in my 14 years living in Wellington. Such a cosy nook, blink and you’ll miss it. the last Bastian of a cheap eggs on toast in Wellington if you will. AND mayoral candidate Rob Gouldon was seated there wearing a massive ribbon like a prize- what a treat. I’ll be back a million times over”
“QT Wellington is a fantastic stay. The service is warm and genuinely friendly, especially the team at the restaurant, which makes you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. The location couldn’t be better — just across from Te Papa museum and right in the heart of Wellington’s vibrant waterfront. I also loved the artsy atmosphere throughout the hotel, from the lobby, the bar to the rooms, which gives the place so much character. A great choice if you want both comfort and a creative vibe.”
“We stumbled upon a cool little bar slightly off Courtenay Place in Wellington and ended up having such a fun night. We were drawn in because we heard some really good filler songs playing—these were the tracks they had on between the karaoke performances. We went in around 9 o’clock when karaoke was already going, and within an hour or two the place really came to life. It was such an amazing vibe with great music, a fun crowd, and plenty of energy. Definitely a memorable night out that happened by chance and turned into something awesome.”
“Love the sweet and sour pork here - the picese are crispy while soaked in the glaze. Chips are just rightly crisp outside and soft inside. They know how to manage expectations and give wait times that vary with the waiting line (15 minutes for me vs 20 minutes for the customer 2 orders after)”
“Coffee is A++ and I’m a coffee snob, was nice to finish a good coffee. I had chicken wings, while they’re were a tad oily they were still tasty and a decent serving! Had a chips on the side and that was also a decent serving and were very tasty, bonus points for not having dry wings. Partner had the chicken burger which he really enjoyed. Overall a really nice experience, the lady who served us was super polite and had fab hospo skills - very welcoming. Fire was also on so we were toasty warm. We will back back in the summer ☀️”
“Always, always high quality, been going for years and have never once had an issue. Love the sushi and every staff member is always so helpful and welcoming! Love this store. Will always try to go here above others!!”
“On my way back to Auckland and was at the Wellington airport. Felt like a burger so decided to have a burger. It was really nice, succulent chicken and crispy bacon. Good fries too.”
“Really good chicken and felafel kebab. It wasn't overloaded with soggy lettuce and carrot like a lot of kebab places tend to do. Service was fast and friendly. Atmosphere was typical of a foodcourt.”
“The dosa was absolutely delicious, really tasty and well made. Food quality is excellent and I’d definitely come back for the taste alone. The only downside was the cleanliness, the floor and tables were sticky, which took away from the overall experience. If they improve this, it would be a perfect spot.”
“A hidden gem in Churton Park! I stopped in at Simmer Café and was seriously impressed. I had a mocha and a cheese scone, and both were outstanding. The mocha was rich, smooth, and perfectly balanced — not too sweet, not too bitter. The cheese scone was fresh, warm, and full of flavour — one of the best I’ve had in Wellington. The staff were welcoming and the café had a great local atmosphere — clean, relaxed, and clearly a favourite with regulars. I’ll definitely be back. Highly recommended if you’re in the area!”
“This is the BEST duck I ever had in my life, I’m a roasted duck searcher everytime I’m dining out from home and my father is a Chinese chef too, the chef in this place remember me him so much. There are seats to eat in and he does also massive take aways, the price is cheap compared to the portions. Really tasty meals and we stayed three days in Wellington going there at least once a day to eat his food. Super suggested! P.s. He may not super chatty like other restaurant owners but you can tell how much passion and love he put in what he does. He knows what to do if you have special request! Give it a try ✨”
“Went to watch the AB France game here last night . Great bar, good atmosphere, friendly staff and a nice platter to watch the game , would recommend”
“Perfect aro chips, crumb fish, batter fish, mussels, pineapple fritter, etc. on Sat arvo. Oldskool kiwi milkshakes in a giraffe cup.”
“Crumbed fish & 1/2 scoop of chips, my standard order. This photo is a Fish burger, 1/2 scoop chips & a Spring roll. Very tasty food. Friendly, family run business, lovely service. Great neighbourhood chippy.”
“I would say this is the best fish n chip shop i have been to for a while. When I visit Wellington, this is a place I must visit and order from the wide range menu, and always know it will taste wonderful. Staff are always friendly when I have visited and are always polite as well. Would highly recommend this place to anyone and suggest it as a place you must visit for some delicious food whatever you may order. I have to add this little note too there burgers are very nice and filling.”
“This is quality sushi. The dishes are fresh and the price reasonable. The train itself goes very quickly so you have to be a little nimble to grab your dish without making a mess. Good variety and made-to-order items available too.”
“The pizza here was delicious, highly recommend!”
“Great food! Always tasty and has a great selection of new pizzas every time we go.”
“Best pizzas ever and local in Tawa! Love their Indian style pizza. Staff friendly”
“Luv this place. The Manhattan is my Fav”
“My first of, no doubt, many meals from here. I had a Curry Chicken Don and it was just delicious. Full of flavour and good value too. There's a great range on the menu to look forward to.”
