“Grabbed a pie and coffee here this morning - the selection was amazing - everything looked clean, fresh and very appetising. The coffee was great and the lady opened to the door for me as my hands were full. Someone using their brains! I had a steak jalepeno cheese - which I couldn’t even eat it all - hubby had classic mince and cheese. Perfect temperature. $25 for the lot (2 flat whites and 2 pies) Happy as.”

Chadwick Bakery & Cafe delivers a coffee‑and‑cabinet line‑up that’s straight to the point. Ribs and steaks arrive seasoned and tender. A sensible spend for the spread. Breakfast plates are tidy and satisfying.

“The vegetarian pie is delicious!!! Highly recommend! Tried a few other bakeries in the area first and they didn’t even have anything vegetarian so was really happy to find this one and it to also be so yummy!”

“Stopped in for a late lunch. There was still plenty of food available. The milkshakes were delicious. The ham & cheese filling was super generous - although not hot inside. There is a very nice covered "outdoor" area. Lovely, happy and friendly service.”

“Come for the climb, stay for the pies. After a semi-leisurely climb up Mount Te Aroha, my friend and I decided to stop at Kevin's Bakery for a food replen. The exterior seemed unassuming, and we were prepared for a meal pervaded by mediocrity. Upon entry, we were happily greeted by Kevin and his wife as we carefully selected our afternoon meal; she chose a butter chicken pie, I went for the reliable staple of steak and onion. The dappled sunlight splashed across our faces outside, as we cautiously bit into the crust. Dense chunks of meat and gravy filled my mouth, whilst flakes of perfectly formed pastry fell across my lap. I was in pie heaven. Within a few minutes I had consumed this bountiful feast, and returned back into the store for more. 10/10, would purchase multiple pies again.”

“Couldn’t recommend this place enough. Super yummy coffee, cabinet snacks are out of this world, lots of vegan options if that’s your jam. All the tables have a deck of conversation starters to connect with your friends, beautiful barista Georgia is always fabulously dressed and makes a perfect flattie, and another lovely human named Kate always has a great chat with me and organizes events here that help bring the community together. Absolute 10/10 café.”

“Best Eggs Benedict I’ve ever had!!! Perfectly poached eggs. There was a good selection of breakfast items to choose from as well as some gorgeous cakes/pastries and some pre-made cold sandwiches. The coffee was fantastic. The staff was so friendly. The prices are incredibly reasonable. You have the option of either indoor or outdoor seating. Highly recommend this spot!!”

“OMG!!! Their mince and cheese pies are so amazing! It's hamlnds down the best mince and cheese pie in Wellington. No corn flour gravey, just deliciously flavored mince, really nice cheese and pastry that is perfection. Their cookie caramel slice is also a must have. The staff are rad too! I know they had to close for a bit for earthquake strengthening work on their building. Myself and the rest of island bay are so super chuffed to see their back in busines. I also think their pies are even better than before they closed.”
