“We had the most amazing time here and didn’t want to leave! Perfect location just a bus ride into the city which leaves from outside. The room was perfect exactly what we needed and the bed was so comfortable. The food in the restaurant/bar was amazing and extra points for the good Guiness which my partner said was the best one he’s had in New Zealand!! Top class service and hospitality, shoutout to the manager who really engaged with us throughout our trip and who was always up for a chat, he took care of everything we needed throughout our trip and made us feel so welcome. Would definitely recommend staying here to everyone traveling to Christchurch and would love to return again.”

“Huge range of food and was tasty considering a buffet. They made fresh garlic naan bread and served to our table. I personally enjoyed the starters like tandoori chicken, lollipops, veg manchurian, paani puri and samosa chat was my favorite. And great variety of desert to end the feast. We will be back again. “Valentines Hornby is our favourite place to eat! We go at least once a month and cannot fault it. The food is fantastic - a great variety, very fresh, always beautifully cooked, and nicely presented. They often experiment with new dishes but you can rely on the favourites to always be there. The food is always hot and constantly replenished, and there is a great salad bar too. The dessert is amazing! Such a variety, including a chocolate fountain and ice cream machine. I love all the small portion mousses, meringues, cheesecake, hot dishes and the sides, like berries, cream and sauces. The lemon roulade is so good! The staff are very friendly and helpful and the service is great too. We cannot praise this place enough - do yourself a favour and check it out! Great value for money too.”
