Good food and service. Excellent burger late morning and perfect fries. Plenty of free parking in M10 carpark.
Columbus coffee is a great spot when no it's raining. With an adjacent playground for the kids, you can grab a nice coffee while they play. A bowl of chips for them to snack on makes the experience even better. Then have a wander through Mitre 10 for your gardening and diy needs.
Popped back to Columbus CafΓ© for a second visit to see if the quality held up β and it definitely did. The eggs benedict was fabulous β perfectly poached eggs, rich but balanced hollandaise, and a well-constructed plate. Coffee was excellent β smooth, strong, and made just right. I also tried the brownie this time; while it wasnβt the best Iβve had, it was still enjoyable for what it was. Service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Some might consider the prices on the higher side, but I think the quality of food and coffee makes it good value. You wouldnβt necessarily expect a great cafΓ© inside a Mitre 10, but this one really delivers. Whether youβre stopping mid-shop or making a special trip, itβs well worth a visit. Iβd come again just for the cafΓ© itself.
I was walking into Mitre 10 Porriua and saw the notice board advertising Columbus coffee shop French toast and said to my husband "yum that's me" What a total disappointment . The plate I got was not what was advertised - a total rip off. I have contacted the management twice and each time they say they cant open the photos! They also say it is one of their popular dishes.
Food is really delicious, pricey but delicious. However they are really slow with coffee. Frequently you will have finished your meal before coffee arrive. Not ideal.
Donβt be deceived by the price! They serve to the lowest possible standard. The savoury scone was raw inside, yuk!!! Would much prefer to eat in a Siberian prison during the tzarist regime. And the coffee was even worse, no taste at all, and it smells like they are using robusta beans to save money. The staff were friendly, though, itβs not their fault.
We ordered the supreme omelette and it arrived very watery and oily. Three of us couldn't finish it, it was that bad. I'm only writing this review as we went up and told the ladies at the counter and no solution was given. This is an expensive menu item and made us feel nauseous afterwards. Don't think we'll be going back there again after this overall experience
Tasty and well presented food. Good coffee. Highly recommend.
Great atmosphere for a coffee & lunch. With the mitre 10 plant section right next to it gives it a great vibe and has a small enclosed playground for kids. Good cabinet salad selection and coffee (even though the roast isn't the best). Great spot that I go back to regularly.
