I went for lunch on Monday Good service, good food The food was delicious with plenty of options to choose from. They also have freshly cooked dishes like pork steak, and a great variety of desserts. The price is really good only $35 and absolutely worth it will definitely come back on Christmas time
Valentines Hornby is our favourite place to eat! We go at least once a month and cannot fault it. The food is fantastic - a great variety, very fresh, always beautifully cooked, and nicely presented. They often experiment with new dishes but you can rely on the favourites to always be there. The food is always hot and constantly replenished, and there is a great salad bar too. The dessert is amazing! Such a variety, including a chocolate fountain and ice cream machine. I love all the small portion mousses, meringues, cheesecake, hot dishes and the sides, like berries, cream and sauces. The lemon roulade is so good! The staff are very friendly and helpful and the service is great too. We cannot praise this place enough - do yourself a favour and check it out! Great value for money too.
Small but nice environment, Good service, desserts are more interesting than other dishes, but never seen them refill the food.
Had a birthday there and really enjoyed the meals. Balloon and birthday card and free meal for the birthday girl was awesome! You don’t get much free these days! The chocolate fountain was a hit and I personally enjoyed the chicken skewers and brandy snaps for dessert! Kept everyone happy they ate whatever they wanted so we will be back no doubt for the next birthday! Bottomless soft drink was good too.
customer service is outstanding! quite a great selection of food, and excellent seafood, left with full tummy’s, will recommend.
We were in christchurch for a wedding and did a family dinner Friday and then went back again Sunday night and the food is amazing the one in rotorua not so great but christchurch you really have it going on would definitely recommend it to anyone going down south
We visited Valentine's Hornby on Friday 14 April 2023. We've enjoyed our recent dinner visits here, as the food has been really nicely cooked & is full of flavour. The head chef has significantly improved the dishes from what they were in the past. There is a good range of buffet dishes to suit or cater to everyone's tastes and/or dietary requirements. We really appreciate the time & effort that the chefs & kitchen staff put into making the wide variety of dishes on offer. The staff are friendly and kept on top of clearing plates from our table. It pays to arrive early as parking is limited directly outside the business. If you happen to miss out on a park right outside, then don't despair as you can park just around the corner. It's only a few minutes stroll away. It would be good if people could show their support for Valentine's, as it's so good to have a buffet option available in the Hornby area.
