“Food was delicious. My son enjoyed the Maakona Sirloin (swapped out mash for fries). Smashed the whole lot. Hubby got the Fiery Herb Chicken, perfect balance of spice and herbyness. I had the Pumpkin Stuffed Pasta. So good! Would recommend..even if you are staying there. Oh and dessert?....amazing, get the Chocolate mousse. To die for.”

“The reason for our visit to the Garden Restaurant Buffet was for Christmas Lunch. This is the first time we have gone out for Christmas Lunch so was a bit dubious about it all and having read some of the reviews (mostly to be honest from just the normal buffet service) wasn't sure we had made the right decision. After getting more nervous by the day as Christmas Day came we arrived at 11.30am for our allocated 2 hour dining experience. It was busy as can be expected for Christmas Lunch. We were shown where our table was, given our drinks vouchers (one glass of bubbly or non alcoholic per person with the cost of the dining experience) Tickets for the Lunch were (I think) $180 per person and we dined with 4 adults and one child. The tables were nicely laid out with Christmas Crackers, candles and a chocolate for after per person. As it was busy (we thought booking at 11.30 would be a good time) we all decided to have a quick look through the buffet and decide what we wanted to try first. Initially we were disappointed as most of the more popular dishes were almost gone and had not been replenished but it only took a request to some of the staff for these to be quickly replenished or as quick as the chefs could get them prepared. To be honest the selection of food was more than anyone could expect for a Christmas Lunch, so many choices (food stations) and the food had their individual flavours and didn't taste like a buffet sometimes can. It was faultless and not to mention the salad station and the dessert station (if you could cram it in after the selection of mains) also available was tea and coffee and a selection of Christmas baking. I would like to thank the Garden Restaurant and Buffet for their efforts on Christmas Day, and for the staff taking time out from their families to work to feed all the people that turned up on the day. I was impressed and so were our other guests especially being first time Christmas Day buffet goers. Just thinking if we would go again, and yes we probably would. $180 per person is quite pricey but given that it's Christmas Day, the selection of food and the amount of staff that were on I considered it to be well worth. Only thing we would do next time is arrive a lot earlier or at least for the first time slot of the day. Thanks team.”

“Enjoyed the complimentary breakfast buffet whilst staying at the James Cook hotel- we are a family of 7 so that helped us save a lot. Staff are great and welcoming. They have the best pancakes freshly made to order. We did have dinner one night where kids got to eat free with every paying adult but I found $65 to be quite excessive for the quality of food. Service was still great though:-)”

“Our rabbit has been boarding at Elite Bunny Retreat for 5+ years. He is always beautifully looked after and Byndie is genuinely pleased to see him! He gets a variety of different food and the hutches are a good size allowing him to move around freely.Highly recommended for your bunny.”

“Leaving our lab with Cecilia & team was a smooth and easy process, giving us peace and mind during Lulu’s recovery. Lulu recently had a TPLO, and we were unable to care for her on the property. She’s been with The Doggery for the last 8-weeks. During this time they’ve cared for her remarkably well, helping her heal, with weight loss, kept on top of her medications, facilitated vet trips all the way to Franklin(!), and provided clear/concise updates on the wellbeing of Lulu. We could not have asked for a more effective recovery facility, and definitely know she was loved the entire time.”

It's completely worry-free when we had Kirsten taking care of our boys when we were away. Love seeing our boys though her Facebook updates. “We stayed for just 1 night and it was really amazing. Qi is super friendly and welcoming. The place is clean, quiet and comfortable. Bedroom had a kettle and mini fridge available for use. Slippers, toothbrush and conditioner shampoo were also included. Breakfast was delicious and right on time. Definitely worth it!”

“Having just spent the weekend at Quail Lodge with my Mum, I simply can't give it a high enough rating! Starting with the warm welcome, the kindness that hosts Sam and Hamish showed was second to none. The accommodation was superb and it felt like we'd been wrapped up in a luxurious big hug. The food was exceptional, Sam is an incredible cook and nothing was too much trouble. Everything including the beautiful location and scenery was truly a memorable and lasting experience. “This was our first time at Waiheke Island we loved every day we stayed. One O One cabins was beautiful & peaceful the cabin was equipped with all you needed clean and modern. A sunny spot listening to the Tui each morning. Our only tip would be, be aware of all steps as it is a climb if you struggle with going up and down. Thank you for an amazing stay.”

“Brett and Veronica were amazing hosts and our stay was truly 5 stars. The views of the vineyard are beautiful, there is a short hike to the beach, and they have a cute dog who hung out with us for a bit. Veronica also took us into town for a yoga class one of the mornings!”

They’re very knowledgeable about life on Waiheke Island and gave us lots of helpful recs for our whole trip through New Zealand. Marino Ridge has incredible views in all directions and the rooms are very comfortable. It’s a great location, with easy access to the ferry, hiking trails, and Oneroa Village.”

“You simply have to come here. Pip and Andy are fantastic hosts and there accommodation is fantastic. The rooms are spacious and uber clean. Pip and her team are very helpful with local information and can help with transit connections. We hired a car through them which was really convenient. The prepared breakfast is one of the best you likely ever experience. It certainly was for us. They will help you plan a fantastic experience while on this beautiful island.”

“This is the third time we have stayed at Omana Luxury Villa and it is just so amazing. There are four differently decorated 1 Bedroom villas that are generous in size and next level! The quality of products, the ocean island view and the setting is so incredible plus the convenience to get there from Auckland city really is just fabulous. We travel a lot and think we have a little bit of heaven right here on Waiheke Island for all the lovely tourists that come to our country to enjoy and for people like us who feel like a getaway so close to home is just fabulous. 45 minutes and we’re there. Congratulations to Silmara and Cobus for having done such as a superb job of creating an environment we just crave to get back to.”
