   I really enjoy eating (and working) at Maakoa. Staying upstairs at Ibis is also super convenient! The atmosphere is relaxed, the service is fantastic and food is delicious. Having dined here quite a few times now when travelling for work, I don't feel the need to go elsewhere. I can work comfortably in the restaurant while ordering dinner and having a nice bright space to work. The staff are super friendly, quick to check if anything is needed, remember me from previous visits and make everything just really easy which is what I also love. The price is also really reasonable. Great place to eat - even if you aren't staying here!

   Food was delicious. My son enjoyed the Maakona Sirloin (swapped out mash for fries). Smashed the whole lot. Hubby got the Fiery Herb Chicken, perfect balance of spice and herbyness. I had the Pumpkin Stuffed Pasta. So good! Would recommend..even if you are staying there. Oh and dessert?....amazing, get the Chocolate mousse. To die for.

   Worst food I ever had. Ordered Maakona sirloin for dinner- low grade steak- undercooked- hardly edible. Ordered Fiery Herb chicken- supposed to be seeved with veges but hardly any there, and undercooked chicken as well. Stay was good but never gonna dine in at this place again.

   breakfast buffet was really good. enjoyed the hashbrown, perfectly cooked,crunchy exterior. bacon,sausage and scrambled eggs were yum.we also enjoyed the pancake and fruits. plenty of dining space inside and outside. had lunch as well, ordered chicken wings, so-so. i enjoyed the onion rings,yummy dip.

   Delicious starter- I had chicken & Avocado salad with Macadamia nuts. My main course I had a Chicken & bacon with mushrooms pasta dish which was delicious. My dessert was a Creme Brulee with burnt caramel & Vanilla. I didn't like the dessert at all but ate it as it was very light. My friend had steak which was horrible as was tough and she had trouble even cutting it., But she advised the waiter & he offered to get her a different dish off the menu, which the chef herself delivered to the table. The staff were excellent. The waiter was very knowledgeable about everything on the menu too.

3. Join the Travelling Pair ★★★★★

   We found this restaurant on First Table and decided to try it while we were in Hamilton. The staff were very accommodating and friendly, especially the trainees. The food, from the appetizers to the mains and finally the desserts, were surprisingly delicious. Overall, we are very happy with our experience.
