On the plate at Frankie, the idea is simple, bistro‑style and well judged. A riverside backdrop rounds out the stop. Service stays present without fuss. Portions are generous yet well judged. Pricing...
“I had a lovely lunch today, bacon and broccoli salad, it was so good. Great coffee also, friendly ladies.”
“A heartfelt thank you to Dr Karen Phillips and the wonderful CHB Vet team for the outstanding care you provided for my grandmother's 18 year old companion, Mehrtens. Anita Mokomoko and her family cannot recommend this incredibly professional, compassionate and affordable clinic highly enough. Dr Phillips, thank you for your support and kindness during such a difficult time. We appreciate you taking the time to provide both comfort and clarity when it was needed most”
“Have had excellent service here. Always take the time to give context to recommendations and work within what is practical solutions-wise. Everyone is really personable and very good with my elderly cat. Would absolutely recommend.”
“Such a lovely unit, everything you need for your stay, the gardens are immaculate, the unit very clean and comfy ... And even had a Christmas tree in the unit ... The most Christmas we've seen since arriving in the South Island. Very much appreciated ❤️”
“Sadly, I recently had my cat Gizmo, put to sleep. Matt and his team were so respectful and caring, talking to him quietly and calmly the whole time. Thank you sincerely - Gizmos mum xxx”
“Great room friendly staff and within close proximity to restaurants”
“The staff at Carevets Papakura are wonderful, professional and caring. I can recommend this place very highly In the work they do. Netting was very noticeable unfortunately was their working conditions in the office area. It was extremely warm and not comfortable for anyone to be there for too long. Maybe the landlord might be able to at the least put In an air condition unit. The staff deserve that. Fingers crossed, for next time I visit there is one installed.”
“Lovely little vet clinic. Very helpful on the phone and when my partner took our cat in for vaccinations they were very knowledgeable and shared lots of useful info!”
“My son and I over the years have returned to Orewa Kiwi Cabins time and time again. The 2 bed cabin is clean and ideal for our stay. We walk or cycle around Orewa as so central, 5 mins to the beach and to the heart of restaurants and shops. The owners have always looked after us, so come and stay, as it’s a terrific break away.”
“Outstanding. We have been staying at Latitude 37 about once a year for the past 10 years. The apartments are wonderful and the staff even better! Our thanks goes to directors Wendy, Ian and their staff who make it all happen.”
“Richard is the best vet so kind caring and understanding. Good friendly staff.”
“Had a fantastic stay at the Randolph Apartments over Labour Weekend! Fantastic well appointed rooms, so clean and tidy, host really friendly and helpful! Also walking distance from some good restaurants! Also loved the fact that they had a bottle of dishwashing liquid not those horrible little sachets! Will definitely stay again!”
“Well located motel just minutes from the Botanic Gardens. We arrived in 5 deg C weather and the heating was turned on for us to enjoy the room immediately. Very thoughtful gesture. Our room had 1 king bed, 2 twin beds, a kitchenette, a dining table with 4 chairs, and a toilet. Comfortable space for 4 adults. Only issue is that the beds are a little on the soft side but pillows are firm & high, which made for a pretty weird sleep at an angle. Washer & dryer available, which were very useful! Kitchen had a full sized fridge, microwave, toaster, electric kettle, French Press, and an induction stove, hob, and pots and pans. Functional! Definitely recommend this place for those looking for a simple, fuss-free but comfortable stay but don't mind soft beds.”
“Very lovely and caring staff who supported us when we had to make the tough decision to put our dog to sleep. We appreciated their flexibility, kindness and time.”
“Had to say goodbye to our best boy. Broke my soul. Raglan Anexa were really there for us. Supportive and caring. Anexa Ngaruawahia is our normal vet but our cat required an urgent appointment which sadly ended with an unexpected euthanasia :-(”
“If you want the comforts of home, don’t stay here. The place is magnificent. It allowed two days of beautiful respite after sightseeing. I loved the lounge and kitchen facilities that you could truly recuperate while on a busy and fun holiday. Thank you so much”
“Best service from Shirley, hub for bus drivers, characters and old people sharing war stories. Food doesn’t mess around - large delicious portions and yummy cakes and sweets. Classic old school New Zealand spot.”
“A really good vet clinic , my cat is still under treatment so I don't know about her outcome yet .It will be a while to get her stable and ongoing .She couldn't be in better hands. I think she is very unwell ,she went away for 2 -3 days and just came back tonight. I fed her and my stray black cat came in for his fed.they don't get on as he is a real male ,unneutered and think he's a feral/exdomestic cat possibly dumped or left behind when young he did the cat flap next door & got kicked out harshly so came into mine he was starving.. I kicked him out as there was a big cat fight ,mine hid under the bed eventually ,He has scooted out the flap but 5 minures he comes back with this low growl 'keep away' big bluff actually . So I fed him some of that shredded meat and he was one happy cat and he loves milk (I know it's not too good for their lungs apparently) but he drunk 2 bowls and got into the cat biscuits .He's sporadic though I never know when he'll turn up and now I'm allowed to pet him .I slipped him a dewormer tab and is now a pitch black nice cat. The Manx I think is too ill to save Petal needs to sleep but I can't get her out from under the bed . I'm too disabled to reach her ,I tried but shes found a good spot.Mean while I adopted Rufus an 8 year old mixed breed big like a lab. He's a softie ,loves food and likes me the source of delights .He has to sample tit bits off my plate I hand him or I risk losing the whole lot and he loves icecream & custard .Sorry to ramble but I'm in bit of a panic with Petal she needs out and in the cage when I can get her to my vet in Darfield . She had 3 lovely kittens all adopted 2 females with normal tails and a male a real Manx ,a little knub for a tail .He went to my best mates wife. I later thought Darn I shoulda kept him for Petal and us ........She had a good life sole charge I used to see her patrolling the territory and she never figured out a hedgehog we used to feed..............I got a pic somewhere...Oh well, I'll have to call someone I hope she doesn't leave me again.”
“My two years old male cat has been diagnosed and treated in ARC vets Shore for a urinary obstruction. I had already received injections and medication from the local vet, but it didn't get better for 4 days and got worse, so I ended up coming to the ARC over the weekend. He was hospitalized for a day and returned safely to our family today. I'm grateful to the kind vet, Jess, for her prompt and clear treatment and explanations. My cat can now urinate and I can immediately tell that he is doing much better than yesterday. Of course, I had to pay not kind medical expenses, but this opportunity gave me the opportunity to learn about various diseases that frequently occur in male cats. I highly recommend ARC vets Shore.”

“Thank you Karaka. We are so thankful for the team going above and beyond for our 20th Wedding anniversary. Thank you Aaliyah for a warm welcome.Being our 20th I really wanted to gift my hubby with the light and warmth of hospitality. The team did not disappoint. You are amazing.”
“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Now I understand why Gemmayze Street was voted No.1 — this place is outstanding! The chicken shish is hands down the best I’ve ever had: juicy, full of flavour, and perfectly cooked. The saffron rice with raisin, walnut, and a touch of sour creamy sauce is absolutely delicious — a perfect balance of sweet, nutty, and creamy. The hummus is also a standout. It has a flavour that reminds me of Sichuan chili, but without the heat — super unique and addictive. The lamb was decent, pretty standard compared to everything else. I also tried their new dessert — it was okay, just not quite my taste. Overall, a fantastic experience and a must-try if you’re in the area!”
“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (If I could, I’d give 20 stars!) We came here for dinner and it was absolutely amazing from start to finish. The wine was excellent, but what really stood out was the incredible service. I wish I remembered the name of the gentleman who looked after us: he was outstanding. He explained the menu with such honesty, knowledge, and enthusiasm, and it was clear he had a deep understanding of both the dishes and the restaurant itself. We were unsure what to order because everything looked so good and we couldnt decide as we wanted to try everything. he guided us perfectly, giving thoughtful recommendations and going above and beyond to make sure we chose what suited us best. Even though the restaurant was full, he was attentive, quick, and genuinely warm smiling the whole time and clearly enjoying what he does. It’s rare to find service like that these days. The food was just as impressive. We had a meat dish (piatto con carne) that was one of the best mains I’ve ever had in Auckland, cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. The linguine pasta was also delicious. But the star for me was the olive ascolane: even better than the ones I’ve had in Italy. For dessert, the cannoli was outstanding, the perfect sweet ending to an unforgettable meal. Even when it came time to pay, the staff were friendly, accommodating, and made us feel welcome right up until the very end. We truly enjoyed every moment of our experience here and will definitely be back. Highly, highly recommended!”
“First German restaurant for me and I have to say: I will come back. Me and my partmer had the plate A and even if it looks big, if you’re hungry don’t worry you’ll eat everything. Loved the sauce and the smashed potatoes, reminds me of my grandma’s one. I like the fact that you have tomatoes, coleslaw and other salads on free service. We also had the tab german beer and nothing to add you know just a tab beer. But the owner is really kind and gave us a good experience. Boyfriend here, I’ve been to Berlin and the taste is familiar. I vouch for this only german restaurant in West Auckland. Traditional I love it”
“Our stay at Sofitel Wellington was absolutely wonderful. The hotel itself is beautiful, with a welcoming and elegant atmosphere. The staff were exceptionally friendly and went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable as possible. They were full of local knowledge and pointed us toward some fantastic nearby attractions, which really enhanced our visit. The location was perfect — close to plenty of activities and great places to explore, all within easy walking distance. We also thoroughly enjoyed both dinner and breakfast at the hotel; the food was outstanding and truly one of the highlights of our stay. Overall, we had such a memorable experience at Sofitel Wellington. Thank you to the entire team for your warm hospitality and exceptional service — we can’t wait to return!”
“We had huge, delicious portions of pastas here. There’s a live pianist as well that created a lovely ambience as we enjoyed our meal.”
“Delicious dinner! Came in without reservation and sat at the bar. We ordered the arancini, mushroom ragu, gnocchis and pancetta pizza, everything was delicious, would definitely have it again. The atmosphere is vibey and the service is really nice.”
“The vets were amazing the whole time my dog was in their care. They kept me updated regularly with calls, texts, and photos, even at night. They were extremely helpful and affordable, and I’ll forever be grateful for the care my dog received.”
“I was really disappointed that no one contacted me before or after uploading my recent blood test results. I was expecting to hear from someone regarding the outcome, especially given the context and the emotional weight of the situation. Instead, I had to check the results on my own, with no explanation or support provided. I understand that clinics can be busy, but a quick follow-up call or message would have gone a long way. Clear communication and patient care should extend beyond just uploading lab results Updated: I really appreciate that the clinic followed up and offered to arrange alternative testing, thank you for taking the time to check in. It’s great to know that patient care and communication are important to the team. I’m grateful for the support and the steps taken to ensure everything is being followed up properly. Thank you again for your care and responsiveness!”
