No swimming pool or sauna. No bathtub. Spilt my coffee everyday at breakfast. Asked for ice at breakfast, it never came. Asked for coffee at breakfast, it never came. Small dark room. The smallest upgrade for platinum member. The hotel is worn around the edges. More like a 4 star hotel dressed up in a mini skirt.

Sofitel Wellington is a realatively small hotel compared to other Sofitel brand hotels. The room is small, most of the room has no bathtubs. Hotel is near parliament house and Wellington station, easy to come from airport. Recived nice macaroons in a small sofitel leather bag on arrival, it is a special welcome gift. Room has view of Bolton street cemetry, if you are not happy to see cemetry outside your window, please take attention before booking. I had breakfast included in the booking, and had dinner in the jardin grill restaurant. I had 4 issues in the restaurant, realated to poor service and hygiene: 1. ordered ice latte and sent me hot latte, a small issue. They sent me a iced latter afterwards after I voiced it out. 2. Had fruits from buffet, honeydew melon got bad already before I took it. I got 4 pieces of green color honeydew melon and they all turned bad, tasting sour and not fresh. Pineapple appeared fresh but watermelon also looked like not fresh. I informed waitresss of the bad fruits and she took the whole bowl back to kitchen, came back with some fresh melon and informed me the whole bowl of fruits was bad. They apologized for that. After 1 hour of finishing breakfast, I had diarrhoea in my hotel room. 3. Had dinner in the fine dining restaurant, ordered 6 oysters but served me 5. I asked waitress how many did I ordered, she said yes it was 6, she would go back to talk to the chef. Then later bring me another 1 oyster. 4. I also ordered scallop as my entree, they served us main meals and it still did not come. I understand entree should come earlier than main meals. I asked the waitress is the scallop coming, she said it would come soon. When they served me scallops, waitress told me it was not ordered before. My husband heard me clearly that I ordered scallops as well. After these disappointing dining services, I went to front desk and complained. Duty manager said they would waive my fees at the restaurant for today, however, I have 100USD dining credit covering my meals. So he gave me 65.7NZD discount for my room fees. My conclusion is I will not choose hotel at Sofitel again in Wellington. Why not ibis or Novotel if you do not expect services.

This is an outstanding hotel. The staff are friendly, welcoming and keen to make your stay as pleasant as possible. We spent a night in a lovely room and used the club lounge for happy hour and the restaurant for breakfast. All exceeded our expectations and provided a wonderful experience while celebrating a wedding anniversary. Highly recommend the hotel as an outstanding place to stay in Wellington. Thanks to all the staff for making it such a pleasant experience.

Our stay at Sofitel Wellington was absolutely wonderful. The hotel itself is beautiful, with a welcoming and elegant atmosphere. The staff were exceptionally friendly and went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable as possible. They were full of local knowledge and pointed us toward some fantastic nearby attractions, which really enhanced our visit. The location was perfect β close to plenty of activities and great places to explore, all within easy walking distance. We also thoroughly enjoyed both dinner and breakfast at the hotel; the food was outstanding and truly one of the highlights of our stay. Overall, we had such a memorable experience at Sofitel Wellington. Thank you to the entire team for your warm hospitality and exceptional service β we canβt wait to return!

We enjoyed the most wonderful stay at the Sofitel Wellington on the weekend. The hotel is beautifully presented and wonderfully clean. The rooms have comfy beds and a luxurious bathrooms. The best part of the hotel however is the awesome staff. They are both professional and friendly. From the lovely lady who checked us in, the friendly housekeeping team, professional bar and restaurant staff and the most welcoming chefs working the breakfast buffet - all were excellent. We were lucky enough to be given a room upgrade on our arrival - which was a wonderful surprise. We canβt wait to stay at this lovely hotel in the future.

It's a top quality hotel. Staff at check-in were excellent, rooms are lovely and quiet and it just has a really nice feel about it. The only complaint would be the breakfast, when you're paying $42 for a buffet you shouldn't be expected to pay an additional $6 for a cup of coffee! No option to make your own either.

Beautiful hotel. Only downsides: water in shower was lukewarm/took 10mins to get hot even with tap turned to hottest setting. It felt like a big waste of water running it for 10mins in order to be hot enough to shower. Other downside was extremely late servicing of room- I was out all day from 0745 until 1615, room still not serviced. I found a message on my door next morning that they βtriedβ to service at 1617 but I had do not disturb on my door. I would have thought room service in a 5star hotel at 1617 is a bit late in the day. Otherwise enjoyed my stay.

This hotel has decent bones but is pretty mismanaged for a luxury property. The restaurant staff, especially at breakfast, were dreadfully inattentive, and at both the restaurant and front desk we had several communication hiccups due to language difficulties. The cherry on top was at check-out, a 20-minute fiasco during which the manager tried to give me someone else's bill, and rolled her eyes as I patiently (and politely) tried to help her sort things.

I was on a business trip and wanted to go to the Intercontinental Wellington, but decided to try Sofitel Wellington. In my opinion, if you're after a 5-star standard and a luxurious experience, Sofitel is not the right choice. Overall, nothing about this hotel is 5-star. The entrance of the hotel is not grand, and the way the hotel staff greet you or offer to take your luggage, as is usual in any 5-star hotel, cannot be experienced at Sofitel Wellington. The lobby is fairly small and tiny, the room is so small, and its interior design is definitely poor. This hotel is not a 5-star hotel for sure in my personal opinion and does not give you a luxury vibe. Surprisingly, the hotel doesn't have a pool or spa. The buffet breakfast was average and very limited. I have tried many 5-star hotels in NZ and other countries, and in my opinion, Sofitel Wellington is definitely way below 5-star standards. I would never book this hotel again. If you just look at the grand entrance and lobby of Intercontinental Wellington and compare them with this hotel, then you will agree with the above.

I recently stayed at the Sofitel and was blown away by the outstanding customer service and amenities offered. The valet service was top-notch and the hotel itself was extremely clean and well-maintained. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, making my stay a memorable one. The location of the hotel is also fantastic - it's situated in a nice and quiet area, yet still close to everything. I particularly appreciated the effort they made to make our anniversary special with a little surprise waiting for us in our room. The only slight downside was the attached restaurant, which was just average. While the meal itself was alright, the seafood didn't taste very fresh. Nonetheless, this didn't detract from our overall experience at the hotel. Overall, I highly recommend the Sofitel for anyone looking for a luxurious and comfortable stay. With a 5/5 rating, it's clear that this hotel is doing something right - and I look forward to returning in the future.
