On the plate at Vic's Cafe, the idea is breakfast‑and‑brunch and well judged. Outdoors works when the weather plays along. Eggs land on point and toast keeps its crunch. Service stays present without fuss.
On the plate at Gentle Giant Cafe, the idea is coffee‑and‑cabinet and well judged. Cabinet bakes and slices cover a quick stop. There’s room for an easy weekend brunch. Service stays present without fuss.
At Ngon Ngon Banh Mi Cafe, the menu stays coffee‑and‑cabinet and no‑fuss. Breakfast plates are tidy and satisfying. Meat‑free options are woven into the menu. Wait times are contained even when busy.
“what a great spot for breakfast with the family. delicious eggs benedict, excellent plating and presentation, and great staff as well! they have plenty of gluten free goodies as well”
“Baked stuffbn cofee and chai latte. XL size for 7 is reasonable. Double shots are gooooooood”
“Decided to retreat from Auckland to venture to this quant cafe by the Waikato river. The cafe is quite spacious with plenty of indoor seating and outdoor seating with good view of the Waikato river. The menu seemed a bit limited and the tastes was ok. A tad pricey but lenient because of the peaceful ambience. Easy to find parking.”
“There is a better chicken in Huntly than KFC. And it can he found at the Huntly Golden Bakery & Cafe! I purchased two packs of double chicken thighs and chips and got the very best in beautifully cooked chicken, and hot crispy golden chips! Do not pass this meal up if you can help it!!”
“This bakery does the best Mocha Frappe. I would literally drive 15mins from home to get my cold coffee here!! All the food in the display cases looked delicious. Purchased muffins, which went down a treat with my client. They prepare hot cooked meals where you can dine in and eat. Prices seemed reasonable, too. Good service seem to be nice people that run/own the bakery.”
“Lovely cafe for lunch. An all day breaky and yummy chook waffle. Lovely service and super friendly to our puppy dog.”
“The generosity of the owner is just unreal. As a Ta walker we were allowed to pitch our tent on the backyard for free. Acces to the bathroom and even the possibility to charge up out stuff overnight. Before we left she even gave us some leftover from the kitchen. Food is amazing. Gotta go there and see for yourself but wish her the best of luck with her beautiful cafe !”
“We found this place through the entertainment book and were amazed at everything about this cafe. We had the fried chicken and bao pork buns which were both of high quality with a perfect balance of the sweet sauce and buns with the pickled cucumber. They use La Mai coffee which is fair trade and supports the people of Thailand. The atmosphere is great with wicked artwork on the walls, plants and an indoor/outdoor flow.”
“Highly recommend Body Cafe in Rototuna! I've had Bianca for my spray tans & eyebrow tidy-ups. She's AMAZING every time, feels so natural chatting away! She's so kind and does an amazing job, makes you feel comfy through the entire process no matter what you're getting done! Will definitely keep going back & I tell everyone about it!”
“Visited The Kirk Café in Hamilton and really enjoyed everything we tried — especially the sweet muffin, the pork & chorizo roll, and the samosa roll. You can tell the food is made fresh and with care. It is a little on the pricier side, but the quality definitely shines through. Cozy spot and tasty eats — worth a visit!”
“An absolute delight to have around. Great coffee, lovely service. Very similar to the one on the Village Green, with the absence of hot foods. Be aware that they only have takeaway cups, so BYOC if possible. ☕”
“Our favourite breakfast place to go to. The place is very clean and Staff is really nice and welcoming. Coffee from this place is really nice. Obviously, The whole menu is a must try once And our kids really enjoy muffins and almond Croissant every time we are at Robert Harris ruakura cafe.”
“Cheffy cabinet food,= yumm. Lovely staff Mature and cultured, polite and conversationalistic = a treat Beverages made well. Barista coffees. Flavours real. Proper cafe quality unlike " other would be if they only could be on outskirts of town". Full marks replete. Thank you for serving us today”
“A nice cafe on the top of the gift shop. They have a wide variety on their menu for cold and hot food. There is also a wide selection of cold and hot beverages including juices, sodas, beer, and Coffee. There is ample dining space inside the cafe with both indoors and semi outdoors options. Their staff are really nice and the service is also fast. The prices are relatively normal given how touristy this site is. This is a great spot to grab a meal or drink either before or after your tour. Since the spot is pretty much half an hour away from any decent restaurant in the area, so it’s good to grab a bite. The parking is free in the main parking lot and there is no time limit. Moreover, there is free WiFi in the restaurant. The menu has vegetarian options, while you can check with the staff for your dietary restrictions. The cafe however is not wheelchair accessible since it’s on the first floor of a wooden building accessible by stairs only. The menu has various kid-friendly items as well.”
Woodlands Garden Grove Cafe & Bar runs with a simple, bistro‑style menu and an easy pace. A riverside backdrop rounds out the stop. Plates offer plenty without weighing things down. The team keeps things friendly and organised.
On the plate at Domain Cottage Cafe, the idea is burger‑led and well judged. A coastal backdrop rounds out the stop. A sensible spend for the spread. There’s room for an easy weekend brunch. Plates of...

“We were a large family group including 2 preschoolers- meeting up in Cambridge. We ordered several dishes but the big breakfast and small big breakfast was super yummy - well cooked and served quickly. The staff were lovely. A great play area for the children. Chilled glasses for our water as well. Will definitely come back next time we are in Cambridge. Thank you for a great place to catch up”

“Went for lunch on Saturday with my 6 year old. He absolutely loved his mango smoothie and cookie and my Chicken/Prawn Laksa was delicious. Highly recommend and we will be back. Awesome, friendly service with a smile. Can't fault it.”
“Hosted a baby shower at Patio Rose recently for a large group of ladies. It was such a great choice of venue and the high tea eats and treats were delicious. Marija and her team did a fantastic job making us feel special and that the Piccolo room was setup up before we arrived. Highly recommend this hidden gem!”
“I love Rich Cafe! They know how to make an excellent coffee - and I'm fussy! Also the food is made on premises by owner/baker - top quality. Savouries particularly yummy. But also a good variety of choice that suits young and old, and moderately priced. Very roomy so tables not encroaching on other's space. A really great place to take a break.”
“Jazz and Hailey were doing well under pressure today. Very pleased with the coffees and the atmosphere. Would be nice if there were mints available for after the coffee to help with the coffee breath but other than that, very pleased with it.”
