Lots of nice looking cabinet food.. service friendly. Sardines on toast was just opened sardines in can. Not warm, not seasoned. Toast, pickles, chutney. If I wanted to make ( assemble) my own breakfast I could have done that at home. The nasi lemak was excellent.
My partner Mary and I visited Replete Cafe & Store on November 18th while passing through Taupō, New Zealand, and we had a fantastic experience. The coffee and breakfast were excellent. I had the Raspberry and Maple Nut cereal with coconut yoghurt and Doris plum, which was fresh, delicious, and beautifully balanced. Mary enjoyed the Scrambled Eggs, while I had a great flat white and Mary had an English Breakfast Tea. Everything was top quality and clearly made from the best, freshest ingredients. We would thoroughly recommend Replete for coffee, breakfast, or lunch. It was also very good value for money, especially given the quality of the food and drinks. Next time we pass through Taupō on a future trip to New Zealand, we will definitely be making a return visit. While you’re there, don’t miss the Store side of Replete. It’s an excellent place to find gifts for yourself or others, with a really well-curated selection. We bought a copy of Ans Westra: A Life in Photography as a gift for a family member, and they absolutely loved it. I thought it was a wonderful choice too. If you’re thinking about buying gifts to take home, whether within New Zealand or overseas, I highly recommend doing it here. We didn’t find anything comparable after leaving Taupō and travelling on to Auckland, where we expected to see plenty of options. Not to say there aren’t other great places, but Replete is genuinely hard to beat. All in all, Replete Cafe & Store was a highlight of our time in Taupō, and we can’t recommend it highly enough.
Absolutely love the vibes here. Peaceful, warm, yet also full of life. Food is really yummy and there were lots of variety! Also spent some time to simply just chill and relax here as we planned for our day. Definitely a comforting cafe to be in!
Went there for lunch and had the Smoked Salmon Bagel. It was good and tasty. They gave me good amount of smoked salmon. You just have to build it yourself. My partner had the bbq chicken leg and tried a little bit of it, it was so yum. Overall I enjoyed it!
Cheffy cabinet food,= yumm. Lovely staff Mature and cultured, polite and conversationalistic = a treat Beverages made well. Barista coffees. Flavours real. Proper cafe quality unlike " other would be if they only could be on outskirts of town". Full marks replete. Thank you for serving us today
Was just walking in town when i saw this busy cafe. Thought to give it a try and was surprise to see Nasi lemak in the menu. Its not bad and good try for the chef. Sambal was spicy - maybe need some tamarind juice a bit for the tangy.
While we dined in, I was blown away by the variety of excellent quality sandwiches, rolls, pastries, cakes and other items for takeaway. They all looked great! Our coffee was excellent. If I was in the area again, I would return just for it! The mince on toast was a standout with a rich tomato flavour and a good helping of garlic and other herbs. It was served with 2 slices of toast and a good amount of butter. I added roasted tomato and spinach. The creamy mushroom was very generous and tasted better with a generous amount of pepper. The poached rhubarb and yoghurt was a delicious fresh dish.

We stumbled across Replete Cafe by accident and enjoyed the ambience, latte, walnut brownie, and service by Clement. The next day we considered going elsewhere for a change and checked out the top-rated cafes on TripAdvisor. Suffice it to say we went back to Replete. It’s bizarre that it’s not No.1, or at least in the top three. This time we ordered a salad as well as walnut brownie and latte. The bill was NZ$19 which we thought was good value. Afterwards we looked in their shop within the same premises. They sell a variety of home accessories and their buyer has a good eye. Would have bought something but airline baggage restrictions prohibited…
Cute busy cafe & homewares store - sells gorgeous different stuff. Brekkie was perfect, added smoked salmon on request even though it wasn't a menu option. Cabinet food looked amazing! Coffee was a bit bitter though.
