On the plate at Gentle Giant Cafe, the idea is coffee‑and‑cabinet and well judged. Cabinet bakes and slices cover a quick stop. There’s room for an easy weekend brunch. Service stays present without fuss. Wait times are contained even when busy.
One of the top cafes in the city for quality and variety of food and lovely service. Something to suit all tastes/needs. My salad was excellent.
I use to come here 2-4 times a week and tell everyone how good this place is. The coffee was the best I'd found as well as the food. Simple and very well done. The coffee is fantastic if it's made by the head barista. If it's not, it's a bit of a dice roll. The food is amazing, but they have to skimp on the hollandaise sauce. To the extent you have to ask for extra, then charge an additional $4 I have had to find another regular for this reason, but I do want to go back as it is genuinely one of the best places in town, but is inconsistent and not worth the price when you have to ask for extra hollandaise or have a coffee that you want to send back. Hoping the 5 star can come back as this place use to be the best in town.
Food was good - Pork Sausage was nice. Spicy chai and flat white were great. Atmosphere was very flat - could be due to weather.
Honestly loved this place so much!!!! The food was amazing. I had eggs Benedict with salmon and it was so packed I was full for hours. Delicious team absolutely coming back!!! The service was great, even when it was packed full and so busy your team served us promptly and efficiently,making sure our food and coffee arrived quickly. For a little cafe that is hidden away, you and your team do a fantastic job to make sure the space feels welcoming and lovely. It's clean and vibrant and I loved my experience. Thank you !!!
Good coffee, but the scone was heated in the microwave so hot it burned my fingers. When it cooled down enough to eat, it became rock hard. This was the second time it happened. I thought I might give them a second chance, but that was not worth it.
Simple, sweet, super service. The owners are friendly and the breakfasts have that simple, uncluttered taste to them. The porridge is so tasty and their eggs are a glorious orange! Check out the colour of that egg!
I love this Chai Latte. Taste good not so sweet which I really like. Will come back again soon.
Really lovely staff. My husband like the flavour of the sausage roll buf I found it a bit 'gritty'. I would definitely go back though and try other things. We both really loved our coffees.
Very nice food offerings from the cabinet to the cook menu. Coffee is great too. I can tell it will be a very nice decor cafe if it is well maintained. One star losing due to the cleaning. The food cabinet looks glossy and dirty, being in the food industry for years, I totally get it the cabinet is quite hard to maintain as new, but definitely can be better than what I see. I really hope the staff can take maybe half an hour to do the cleaning and this will be an excellent cafe. Pics showing the pork belly and avocado toast, it is amazingly well seasoned and cooked perfectly. Will definitely visit again and hope to see a cleaner shop! Keep up the good work!
