“One of the best cafes in Wellington I reckon. Underrated/hidden gem. The service is lovely and the food and coffee is excellent. They do an awesome soup + cheese toastie combo that is epic. They do really good pies, sandwiches and wraps too. Highly recommend.”
“A relaxing shaded cafe on a hot day; ample range of treats for us gluten free people. Really good coffee; no hint of bitterness. There was even a beautifully executed picture of a swan in my foam. Thanks Shine staff!”
“we absolutely loved this place. it was recommended by a co worker as a meat place, but in my opinion I enjoyed better other things. I enjoyed the tempura oysters and the croquetas , incredible tasty. the dessert was also perfect. The meat was good, but personally I don't enjoy when the put so many sauces to what in where in my opinion the main flavour should be the meat only. In the menu it did say it would have a sauce, but I thought it would be on the side! and they actually put 2 different sauces !! way too much! The environment and service were both up to point and the restaurant had a retro European feel which we loved. We are definitely going back for more , sooner rather than later ! (sauces on the side this time)”
“KC has been around for a very long time and rarely closes. Their food is always consistent and they serve up till quite late in the night. Menu is extensive and you’ll often end up wanting to replace your initial choice as there’s too many to choose from! My favourite is the black pepper pork chop and deep fried squid (which you need to eat while it’s hot). The place is often packed so be ready to do takeaways or hang around till one is available. Toilets are at the back however do be careful as the floor might be a tad slippery.”
“Best coffee, amazing homemade food and friendly service. It's always warm and cosy in there too. Consistently delicious!”
“A lovely cafe on Jackson St with heaps of cabinet food and full menu available. Portions are huge so do take that into consideration if you’re a light eater. Daily specials are often changing on the blackboard. Extremely friendly service and dogs are allowed at the rear of the cafe. It does get busy on weekend mornings so bookings are essential. Lots of parking but be prepared for a wee stroll if it’s busy.”
“Love popping into Fahrenheit. Staff are great, coffee is always on point and food is delicious. Whether you’re after coffee and a slice or breakfast/lunch definitely check out this cool little cafe.”
“I grabbed dinner for takeaway from Li’s Cafe for my birthday. absolutely delicious! The food was packed really well and tasted just like home. Super comforting, full of flavour, and the service was lovely and friendly. Highly recommend if you're after a warm, home-style meal!”
“Enjoyed an absolutely delicious lunch with a glass of French Chardonnay at Tartines Cafe while visiting Eastbourne. It was a nice relaxed atmosphere seated in their covered courtyard on a beautiful sunny winters day. The staff were friendly and attentive. Tartines welcome dogs which was an added bonus as we had driven out to Eastbourne to take her for a walk. We also noticed they had a lovely selection of frozen takeaway meals so we popped back on our way home and bought a couple of delicious looking soups that are very reasonably priced. Highly recommend.”
“To be fair the cafe was empty when we arrived. Gorgeous food.”
“I've been to a lot of kebab places around Lower Hutt, and this place beats them all. Great price kebabs, generous portions, and they are juicy without getting soggy. The meat was grilled well, with good sized pieces and lots of crispy bits, and the kebab was wrapped so that you don't have to fight the tinfoil away before you can eat it. I also had the baklava, which at $8 is on the pricier side, but it was a good portion with plenty of syrup nuts and crunchy pastry. Today was my 3rd time here, and it will be my go-to kebab shop from now on.”
“Loved the mood on Saturday karaoke. I will definitely try to go again”
“One of the nicest places in the city for Sunday high tea brunch. French creperie with multiple choices of both sweet and sour French crepes, including some vegan options. There are plenty of suggested options, but you can also go wild and create your own one. Crepes are really amazing, very tasty, good size portions and amazing taste. It’s really great that there is vegan options available, made of buckwheat. If you have not enough of sugar you can finish with a great desert selection. Coffee is slightly bitter and not the best blend , but tea selection is perfect.”
“Great coffee and a place to do some laptop work. There are plenty of seats as the cafe is technically a hall. It is huge. The cafe is part of the event center but at the same time works as a separate entity. I will return more often to do digital work online and have great coffee in the future. This was my first time here today.”
“My visit to the Fat Beagle Cafe in Darfield was a breakfast experience beyond compare. The moment I stepped in, I was greeted with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. What truly stood out was their dedication to customer satisfaction. The staff listened attentively to our preferences, ensuring that the breakfast was tailored to our liking, resulting in a delicious meal. The food quality was exceptional, with a menu boasting a wide variety of options. From the hearty breakfast dishes to the delectable coffee, every aspect was outstanding. The Fat Beagle Cafe is undoubtedly a must-visit for anyone seeking great food and a memorable breakfast experience.”
“Best pies I've ever had, hands down. Perfect pastry, more flavors than you could think of and the coffee to back them up. Deserves six stars.”
“Great friendly service, awesome atmosphere and the best food in Linwood”
“popped in approx 2pm on Fri as on way to Hanmer from Airport and was. starving . place Advertised home made pies hence why we picked it. I Had steakncheese. hubby had steak mushroom. They were both yum. Good meat and flavors. So dont be fooled by exterior. The proprietor was so friendly and great service even insisted on toasting in oven the filo pie we also bought so pastry was crunchy. Recommend if you want an inexpensive and quick bite on the road.”
“Have been going here for 15+years, taste hasn’t changed, quality ingredients and taste, always come back”
“Food that worth waiting for. Reasonable price. Good food. Great chef.”
“Lovely shop. Busy but coffees were incredibly quick and well presented. Impressive stuff. Food was excellent as well. Edit 2. Another stop at the cafe. Cute to go cups & the barista on the machine is a consistency machine. Props to him. Cafe could use another carpet or two. Something to help with the noise.”
“Lovely food, excellent service and nice calm athmosphare to have breakfast, lunch or dinner. We only had breakfast but I almost wish that I could have had the dinner as the menu looked very good! My compliments to our super cute waitress, who served us with such a delightful manner!”
“Found this little café during our road trip around oxford. The place is charming and well maintained. Was pleasantly surprised by how warm and homely it felt. Sort of going to a friends house for a meal. The place is generous with the portion size and the staff are generous with smiles and hospitality. Would love to go there again. The peach honey bush tea is a must try! its been a day now, and im still daydreaming about the lovely gluten free slice i had. Yum.....”
“What an absolute gem of a find. Definitely will be returning. Wish I'd noticed the speciality flavoured hot chocolates earlier. Great excuse to return! Cinnamon scroll delicious, 4 shot medium long black outstanding.”
“I've had a lot of eggs bennies in my time and this was honestly one of the best. The cloud bread was so soft and yummy”
“A lovely atmosphere with with friendly staff and unique decor. There was a great selection of both menu and cabinet foods. Many options had something special that lifted them above standard cafe items. The food was absolutely delicious and we will definitely be back to try more options. It’s wonderful on a sunny day to sit outside and enjoy the calm environment while the children have lots to see. We loved the special glassware for the milkshakes and coffees.”
“Really nice food at low prices. Staff are lovely too. Had eggs bene a few times and waffles both very good and great value”
“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely outstanding! Purple Weka Café is hands-down one of the best spots in Christchurch. The coffee is consistently excellent, smooth and perfectly made every time. The food is generous, fresh, and full of flavour – real Kiwi-style portions with that homemade feel. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with staff who go above and beyond to make you feel at home. Whether it’s a quick coffee, a hearty breakfast, or a relaxed lunch, this place delivers every single time. A true local gem – can’t recommend it highly enough!”
“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Had an amazing experience at Boteco Cafe & Restaurant! The shisha, food, and service were all absolutely top-notch. A special shout-out to Dev, who looked after our table—his friendly personality and genuine care truly elevated the whole experience. He really knows how to make customers feel welcome and valued. Great work team! Highly recommended and will definitely be back.”
Royal Vietnamese Cafe & Restaurant delivers a burger‑led line‑up that’s straight to the point. A sensible spend for the spread. Serve sizes show solid value. Fries and sides round things out neatly.
