   We have been to The Med many times & it was always our go to for brunch. We hadn't been for a while & I assume it has a new owner. The menu is the same but the food is very different, and not very nice. It was also very quiet with no atmosphere. Whereas it was always busy & humming. Service was very slow even though there were only 6-8 people & plenty of staff. Unfortunately we won't return. Coffee was still great though.

   Ok, there was a hiccup with the order not being moved from the till to the barista but that was quickly put to rights with apologies. Love the relaxed feel and friendliness of staff. Great coffee and scone.

   The food here is good but unfortunately the service really brings the experience down. The staff were very slow and I even had to take my own drink out of the fridge because no one brought it to the table. On top of that the whole restaurant smelled strongly of fryer oil which made it unpleasant to stay inside. Overall, despite the decent food the poor service and atmosphere mean I would not come back.

   Right in the centre of Tauranga. Nice chill atmosphere, music 60s 70s 80s. Parking on a Sat morning quite hard to find and theoretically only 30 mins. Food was excellent. Coffee very good. The menu was the usual fare, their lunch menu starts at 8am and some nice options there. The most impressive feature, very rare in cafes, is they offer a small version of nearly all their meals at nearly half the price. This was great for us as we don't have big breakfasts. I had the small eggs bene which was just right, my partner the full monty (big breakfast) which was more a medium than a small soi got some leftovers. Friendly, fast and knowledgeable service. Highly recommended.

   Local highly recommended cafe right in the town centre. Great hospitality to refreshingly start your day with breakfast. I like them pay attention to the details to even cool the cups to make sure your drinking water is cool enough. Breakfast means a lot to me so if you are my kind please grab a seat in the Med when you visit Tauranga.

   We were looking for a nice spot to have brunch and this place didnt disappoint,food was lovely, however,this regular lady ( Niki )was super rude... We were sitting in the middle of table for 2s and niki walks in and she sat right next to me without even acknowledging us making us move to the table next to it! We probably never go back there although the food was great just not to meet lowclass entitled people like NIKI.

   we were looking for a cafe with some vegan / dairy free alternatives and came across The Med! i followed a review saying the vegan pancakes were good, and I’m so glad I did. those pancakes were the BEST i’ve had in awhile! the staff was super friendly and on top of helping us out. plus the coffee was great. i highly recommend!

   Great place for a farewell breakfast with family after a special reunion. Delicious food choices and the best Gluten Free bread we have ever eaten. It was great to also have the choice of small or regular eggs Benedict.

   One of the best cafes in Tauranga! I’ve been wanting to visit for weeks and finally got the chance today. Immediately the staff were so friendly and welcoming from the moment we entered! Service was very quick and staff were all lovely. The food was beyond expectation and came out quickly despite how busy it was. Portion sizes were plentiful and the quality of food and beverages was top tier. If you ever get a chance you need to go here! Prices are fair and worth what you pay for. Very happy customer will be back again soon… recommend the Whittaker hot choc was delicious :)
