“​My recent visit to the QT Hotel and Restaurant in Wellington was an absolute delight. The hotel's fantastic location made exploring the city a breeze. ​From the moment I walked in, I was struck by the beautiful atmosphere and the genuinely friendly, professional staff—especially Ray and Anthony, who were absolutely amazing. ​The food was just as impressive. The weekend high tea was an exceptional experience, with every tea and accompanying food item delicious and the service impeccable. ​Breakfast was a definite highlight. While the buffet was decent, the à la carte menu was sleek and memorable—I'm still dreaming about the egg benedict and the delicious mushroom dish. ​Dinner was just as stunning, thanks to a fantastic salmon dish and the breathtaking night waterfront view. As a seafood lover who usually avoids raw oysters, I was amazed by the one I stole from my friend—it was incredibly fresh, and the vinaigrette was a perfect touch. ​And the experience didn't stop there. The room was spacious and tidy, and I absolutely loved the bathtub. ​I was also pleasantly surprised by the value. Despite ordering a lot to try everything, I didn't find the prices horribly expensive. If you get the chance to visit Wellington, I highly recommend a stay at the QT to enjoy the amazing food, service, scenery, and the comfortable rooms.”

“Got hosted by Mark tonight. Wonderful chap, checked on top ups for drinks and food. made sure we were comfortable. Our original server didn't seem like she could be bothered after the order to meal check, but mark ensured we had a good time”

“Came here for dinner on Saturday and the food was delicious! We ordered pretty much the entire tapas menu and nothing was disappointing. The staff were also really friendly :) Great experience and will definitely be back.”

“The staff here were very friendly and accommodating for my friend and I with our babies and they brought over a high chair for us. The coffee & food was awesome and came out so fast. We ordered the full vege grill (don’t mind all that pepper in the photo I did that lol) and the house hash with salmon. I would definitely come back here.”

“Had a great family event at Speight's Ale House Petone. Thank you Rory, Karen, bar staff and kitchen for making our evening run so smooth with great service and food was delicious - the Lamb Shanks were a hit! Great customer service our family felt so welcomed and special. We got to enjoy a fun evening just catching up while flow of meals, addtional requests and drinks were served in perfect timing and accommodating our kids meals was wonderful. Thanks again Justin and Speight's team for accommodating our group and organising a set menu. We had a great time, will be back again.”

“This is long overdue. Yesterday was Mojo Market Lane's last day. I will really miss their coffees - from Flat White to their Machiatto, I will definitely miss the lovely Asian lady Chef with her fare of perfect poached eggs, freshly roasted Chicken Sandwiches...Always given a royal treatment by the team at Market Lane and always given thoroughly enjoyable and pleasurable gastronomic experience whenever I had my breakfasts there! “I would say the best bubble tea in town! This is my place to go ! Usually there at least once per week. Lovey staff, can recommend you some combos different from the menu if you ask for their opinion. Things that i really like about this place is the app that makes the order easy. Pay with your phone . How easy ! Dont need to bring your card. The place is aesthetically pleasing. Clean ans inviting. Some of my favorites are Thai milk tea, passion fruit, taro tea. I never had a bad service there . The staff is very attentive. They want you to enjoy the bubble tea experience and come back for more!”

“I have had lunch here on a weekday, and dinner on a Friday night but early. Both times I enjoyed the plant-based food and the atmosphere of the place. For dinner I had the fajita tofu bowl (pictured) - I cannot rant enough about how good and perfectly cooked their tofu is. Verrae nice: crunchy crust and not soggy. Both times I enjoyed having quite a few options to choose my meal from, and how fresh the ingredients are. It’s also handy that this restaurant is right on the beach, and handy for parking and the bus stops. Staff have been very responsive and helpful both times, so 5 stars it is! Will be back to try the other menu options.”

“I visited this lovely little cafe on a daily basis while staying in Kelburn Castle. I welcomed warmly and have a problem with my request but unfortunately very unfortunate. He watches me treat them with others with the same cheerful patience and the clientele is varied. The food is excellent and the coffee superb. The best little coffee I've ever found.”

We went to try the Burger Wellington offerings, and unlike most other places, it was amazing for my non vegan partner and my vegan self to feel like we were both having the same experience, as there are matching burgers. I would absolutely recommend this place for a great meal out and even more so if you have a fur baby, as they have a whole extra menu, just for them!”

“It's 11.30 and we have an hour to spare before boarding the ferry. To top it off, we are feeling a little peckish. I had heard good things about The Kanteen, so off we go. You are greeted by a warm yet industrial atmosphere, with a professional air. The vibe is very much like a shared workspace, the occasional table hosting a laptop and an impromptu meeting or two. We made our way to the service desk and we're greeted with a lovely welcome and friendly smile. The food in the cabinet looked amazing, so I ordered the Mushroom Melt, and my friend the Swiss Cheese BLT. And of course, a couple of Flat Whites!! The food was served promptly and was amazing. The melt did exactly that, with dripping cheese, caremalised onions and loads of mushrooms, this toasted sandwich ticked all of my boxes. Made with care and with fresh ingredients, it was the gift which kept on giving. And for the price tag it was a great deal. The coffee was equally good, and served in a suave eco friendly disposable cup. Please try this place out, it's definitely worth it!”

“Fantastic place for all day dim sum or yum cha or just a great meal. The restaurant is very large and though on the weekends bookings are advised, we went on a Tuesday night and it was quite empty. The food was delicious, the service great and the wine list of high quality. We had a great Riesling from Germany which paired perfectly with the meal. You must get the crispy skin pork. It is amazing. Also of note are the soup dumplings. Everything was of high quality and I love that they constantly fill up your tea without needing to ask. Highly recommended.”
