“A bonus that this restaurant is part of the hotel we’re staying in. Great atmosphere, friendly and knowledgeable staff, absolutely delicious food. Steak and chips, cook exactly how we asked, accompanied by truffle butter. Chicken Tikka, with a trip of dips, accompanied by garlic naan, and rice. Not too spicy (perfect for those who don’t like spice) my favourite dip was the tzatziki style. Kids meals come with a drink and dessert. Mac and cheese, perfect size for for kids, my son enjoyed it but I through it was too cheesy. Ice cream sundae was very cute, 1 single scoop with marshmallows, sprinkles and wafers. “Was in on a Tuesday for dinner. Atmosphere was awesome as it was quiz night. Managed to find a good table. Staff were great, quick and attentive service. Had the Fish Special “Hake” and dam it was tasty.”

“This place never fails. Great food, service, drinks, coffee, parking, public transport- everything! The menu is fab,. But people come for the daily specials. This is shown in a light board. You can check that out as you drive past,as well as check on how busy ( buzzy) it is. They do gluten free with no fuss, kids, no problem ( the 25 yo hipster next me ordered children's menu chicken!). Try it. Think diner/cafe/neighbourhood bistro and you'll get it. Really, have an open mind and enjoy it.”

“I originally came in one day with my friend we where abot worried as it was some of our first bars in wellington and we had a lovely night the staff where so incredible and its kept me coming back everytime, all the bartenders have been lovely and chatty to me as always as they do a great job at keeping younger women such as myself and my friends safe the duty managers often are running around and still servicing with a smile which is honestly amazing especially when it's so packed . The staff have made that place what it is, and it's a safe and great place to drink highly recommend.”

“Went here with my date and we both really enjoyed it. The free popcorn at the begining was definitely a highlight and if nothing else, we'll be back for more of that! The Mac and cheese was literally bubbling when it was served and the cauliflower was just awesome. The chicken tenders were great, had a bit of a kick to them that neither of us were expecting but weren't disappointed by either. Our server was friendly and helpful when we had questions. Will definitely be back!!”

The staff were outstanding—proactive and attentive. Our guests raved about the food and overall atmosphere. We highly recommend The Waterfront for any event. “I came here a whil ago and was not impressed with the steak. However decided to come today, and i could not fault my scotch fillet steak, cooked med rare, tasted amazing. Long horn double patty burger looked delicious and mouth watering, the patties were cooked to perfection and the flavors awesome. Kids nugget meal, fresh nuggets!! Kidsmeal free on sundays. Customer service, lady was super nice and chef stayed open even when we arrived cutting it close for kitchen to close. Desserts were yumm too.”

“First of all this is a pub not a fancy restaurant - set your expectations accordingly. Having said that the food is excellent value for money and a big range of options on the menu and specials board and an amazing selection of sweets in the cabinet. Have had the "small" beef burger here and it's just spot on, usually can't finish the fries that come with it (hey have small/large sizes that really should be described as big/huge). Friendly service at the counter, clean and tidy premises and what looked like a number of locals in for Monday lunch - clearly popular.”

We had the pomegranate and home made lemonade drinks and they are divine. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and experience, the food is prompt and tasty and the service is excellent. We left full and impressed. We’ve been to Spain and the food at olé is authentic and awesome.”
