“Beautiful walk along the trail great views all along the trails”
“A windy road going up Dyers Pass or Port Hills takes you to a few viewpoints and tracks where you can see a vista of either Christchurch City or the harbour on the other side. There's also a slightly steep but doable walk going up to the back of Christchurch Gondola which will reward you with the same breathtaking views (with some effort involved!). Would recommend if you're after a nice quiet day away from the hustle and bustle of city life! Just be careful of cyclists on your way there as they share the road as well :)”
“Stunning scenery good roads truly beautiful”
“Beautiful walk on a clear winter day. While it’s of moderate difficulty, it’s a steep, narrow shingle path a lot of the way and we saw 3 people slide and fall coming down. Google map doesn’t quite take you to the start of the walk. You need to drive into the reserve then you’ll see the start of the walk on your right.”
“Great local drive up to beach wth changing rooms plus 2 toilets. So handy.”
“Nice spot to chill for a bit. I actually saw a few eels and a large fish just standing in the steps”
“Lovely gardens and shop easy walk and very peaceful”
“Saville Creek changed my life. My entire view of everything that exists in this world, in fact, even in the entire universe. I can never look at anything I know the same way again. Saville Creek represents emotions that most humans could never understand. But I can. Thanks to this creek I was awakened to many things previously considered unimaginable . Thank you for this exquisite creek, I will never forget this experience.”
“Beautiful long beach with good parking space. Dog friendly,U do swimming, fishing. Beach safeguard are also on duty for emergency .”
“Stunning viewpoint with easy tracks, fresh air, and wide landscapes. Great for quick hikes, sunsets, and peaceful weekend escapes.”
“Beautiful place to go for a walk. Not a simpe walk but the views are all worth it.”
“Such a beautiful place to visit in Christchurch! Especially in high tide. Highly recommended.”
“Marvelous!! Worth driving all the way to the end & have a walk on some random tracks to enjoy the stunning scenery!!”
“Enjoyed taking my nephew for a walk along the beach and watching him play around in the sand”
“Easy access and great location.”
“Very nice walk and nice that disc golf is there as well.”
“Willowbank Wildlife Reserve is absolutely amazing, a perfect mix of native, farm, and exotic animals. The kiwi enclosure was the highlight for me, peaceful, natural, and the closest I’ve ever been to seeing a kiwi up close! The staff are super friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly care deeply about conservation. The grounds are clean and easy to walk through, with beautiful native bush and photo spots everywhere. Feeding the eels and lemurs was such a fun surprise. Great for all ages, and only a short drive from the city or airport. Definitely one of Christchurch’s must-visit attractions!”
“We had a perfect morning for this planned trip thankfully as you need to prebook on the website. The pools were clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. While we spent the entire visit in a single pool, there were many choices and I have tried them out on different occasions. In my opinion this is a great pool to bring a baby/toddler family to. The 1st pool has a big terraced entrance for new water babies and a deeper part so that adults can hover along the edge of the shallow section supporting their tamariki. I highly recommend.”
“Wow, what a fabulous activity to have in the heart of the city! A number of Punt boats go down the Avon River, guided by young gentleman dressed in the European/English style, to give some authentic vibes to the experience! Charlie was our 'punter' a very friendly young chap, and very knowlegable about the Botanical Gardens we floated beside, as well as all the variety of birds and Ducks on the river! The tour lasts around 1/2 hr, and worth every dollar!”
“Great park with scenic views Toilets and rubbish bins on hand The park is not fenced but is on a quiet road”
“Beautiful place for a lovely walk and relaxed picnic. There is a great playground for the kids. There are Ducks & Eels!”
“Really great beach. Cafe is busy and deservedly so. Great time had by all.”
“Great spot... Oxford lions club done a great job. Picnic tables and a pergola..toilets, really nice place to stay... Wide variety of camping styles here tonight.”
“Went to selwyn sounds with a group of friends and 10 thousand others. Great afternoon”
“Good car park reasonably close. Good sized dog area. No water available? Reasonably clean. My dogs and I enjoyed.”
“Good place for scenic views over Christchurch. There's a beautiful building which houses a cafe at the end of the walk. Toilet facilities are available. Plenty of street parking is also available. Google will most likely say "you have arrived" right in the middle of nowhere. You will see steps that you can take to reach the viewpoint (5 minutes), alternatively, you can keep driving a bit further until you see the entrance to the track.”
“This park is fantastic, right up there with the Margaret Mahy park. Right by the sea.”
“Go at night it is the amazing entrance to Christchurch botanical gardens. If you come during the sunny hours the water fountain will sparkle in all the different colours of the rainbow. Unfortunately no one throws money in there so no extra income for me. Water pressure also not strong enough to take a coherent shower and I got soap in my eye.”
“One of our favourite cafes, always friendly, great food and a lovely setting with a big garden.”
“Visited on a weekday morning. Very tranquil and peaceful. Immaculate gardens with a stream flowing through.”
