We went kayaking on the Avon River, and it was quite easy to operate. During the hour-long ride, we saw ducklings and other natural scenery on the river, and we also greeted other tourists. It was a very fun experience. We came back two days later for a second time :)
We hired a small boat for 4 people. Rowing upstream the Avon to the 4th bridge and back. It is so beautiful! Very nice staff.
Me and my partner visited Antigua cafe for breakfast their service was really amazing they made my birthday breakfast so enjoyable by amazing art .I’ll definitely recommend and will love to come back here .Thanks a million for 5 star service to cafe staff.

It’s fun to kayak and enjoy the view of the river.
Great for a relaxed paddle around the Avon. We booked a double kayak and was reasonable at $34 for one hour. Only giving 4 stars however, as the kayak was full of spiderwebs at the front. I didn’t want to put my feet into the spiderwebs so had to sit a bit awkwardly. Didn’t see a spider thankfully but would be nice if they cleared them out for webs/spiders before letting people hop in.
A different thing to do in Christchurch. Enjoy the Avon from the water.
Great place for kayaking ($17 to hire), the river is beautiful in all seasons. There is a friendly duck (Jimmy) that comes up to people for pets.
We had an excellent experience today canoeing down the peaceful river Avon! Kudos to Rory from Antigua boat shed for making us laugh and sharing lots of interesting stories about the history of the building, the area and the wildlife, great costumer service and highly recommend wee activity!
