“My friends and I had an absolute blast white water rafting experience. From the moment we got on the raft, it was non-stop fun, laughter, and pure adrenaline. We couldn’t stop smiling the entire time! A huge shoutout to our guide, Jasper, who made the whole experience unforgettable. He kept the energy high, made sure we felt safe, and turned every moment into something exciting. We had so much fun that we’re already talking about when we can do it again. If you’re thinking about trying white water rafting—DO IT. This was hands down one of the best adventures we’ve had! We’ll definitely be back for round two!”

“Amazing Freedom camping ground with fantastic facilities. For people staying in tents you can stay here for 2 nights in a row max. For Self Contained it’s 4. We arrived around 5pm and the site was very quiet, assuming the weather had hampered a lot of people’s camping adventures. Very clean and well maintained areas. Everyone here on the night we stayed were very respectful of each others space These grounds have a KiwiCamp pod where you can use a kiwiCash tag to make full use of the facilities, which include: Hot Showers, Laundry, cleaning sinks and electric cooking. You can use the toilets free of charge and there is a basic Sink and Out Tap on the side of the pod. There’s even picnic benches scattered around where you can pitch next too. And a few undercover benches too! 100% recommend this location, will hopefully get the chance to come back.”

It's a dream for kids, with plenty to see and explore, and the slide is a bonus! The BBQ area and ample seating make it an ideal spot for a family picnic or meetup with friends. As you climb higher, the views get more breathtaking, and the gardens are simply gorgeous. Can't wait to come back!”

“A Fun Spot for a Swim! If you're looking for a great place to cool off, Poripori Water Holes is the spot! Nestled in the Bay of Plenty, it's a fantastic swimming hole surrounded by lush bush and cool rock formations. Here’s how to get there and what to expect. Getting There Getting to Poripori Water Holes is pretty straightforward: Park: Find a spot in the gravel area along Poripori Road. Cross the River: You’ll need to hop across the Wairoa River. It's good to wear some shoes. Follow the Path: Look for a narrow path that leads you through some rocks and bush. There is also a path through the forrest. A bit hard to find when you go there. Easier when you go back. Head Left: Once you’re through, take a left to find the water holes. What to Expect Swimming Fun There are several swimming holes with different depths, so it’s great for everyone—kids and adults alike! The water is nice and refreshing, perfect for those hot days. You can lounge on the rocks or even try some jumps if you're feeling adventurous! Safety First Before you go, check out Trustpower's website for water release schedules. They have a siren that goes off before they release water from McLaren Falls Dam. Be aware that the water levels can change quickly, so always keep an eye out for any warning signs. It’s best to visit when the water is calm. Tips for Your Visit Bring some snacks and drinks to enjoy while you’re there. There are no toilets, so plan accordingly! Make sure you keep an eye on kids, as some parts can be tricky with rocks. Overall, Poripori Water Holes is a fun and relaxing place to spend a day. Just remember to stay safe and enjoy the beautiful surroundings!”
