“A short Gondola ride up to the top of Mnt Cavendish, a great outlook over the city and a view of some sheep in the paddocks below, but it was the view at the top that looks towards Lyttleton Harbour and the city is spectacular! Very smooth ride and not really that high off ground,(I still wouldn't want to fall out, though), but within reach of some with height fears.”

“Loved it but I think some of the trees etc need thinning. Most of the walking paths have thick hedge like vegetation either side and you have no view of what's beyond”

“A favourite place of mine which I've been going to since I was a toddler. A great walk, a good scramble and clamber and the views are incredible. Getting to Castle Rock now is a small walk along the closed section of the Summit road. There are often lots of bicycles so be aware of that, especially if you have a dog with you. It's well worth the adventure, that's for sure!”

“The staff here were friendly and helpful, there is a huge range of pots and containers and a small selection of plants. The prices are varied, quite a few specials and reductions.”

“Super easy walk most levels will handle this trek. Birds singing and basking in the sun. Fantails darting around to guide you through the winding trail.”

“Had a spin on the ol disc golf course the other weekend and they have tidied this place up alot. Trees are trimmed and the park it's self has improved alot from a couple years back. The 9 hole course is a great quick game and everyone I have bumped into have been good sorts.”

“Great place to relax. If you have car you can follow the Google map but if you catch bus and get off Edward Street then turn left. Keep walking until you see liffey drive turn right. Start walking from there. Do not catch eels as fish is well protected”

“One of the region’s best playgrounds, particularly for young children. Nice, quiet setting by the lake, with wooden walkways and viewing areas. Facilities include picnic benches and modern toilets. Playground equipment is new, tidy and varied. Beautiful in the evening with the sun setting across the lake and through the trees.”

“Avonhead takeaways has the best Taiwanese crispy chicken in town. We also tried their Korean fried chicken and octopus balls. Very yummy Asian street food with good value for money.”

“Love this park. A little bit of everything for everyone to enjoy. The pond is a bit ew but they have ducks to feed for the kiddies and the toilets are hidden behind the pond.(depending on which way you come in)”
