A great day out looking at so much beauty in great surroundings. Also having lunch at the cafe and sitting and enjoying nature at its best was a treat as well. Recommended

It’s beautiful. I go there every time I am in Christchurch. The location is perfect you have the market and museum next to it. It has a beautiful collection and I love the big trees. Their winter garden is not as nice as the Auckland’s one.

Friendly and knowledgeable guide. The tour is a good way to get oriented and an overall sense of the garden and where things are, but if you have time then of course is it worth walking around on foot afterward. For me the highlights were the rose garden, the peace bell, the magnetic observatory, the heritage rose garden, and a beautiful and touching work of art near the heritage rose garden called Flora and Otto consisting of an armchair and an ottoman that have been decorated with mosaic tiles formed from broken china/teasets after the earthquakes

The environment is remarkable, with birds and ducks gracefully flying and wandering around the garden. The birds are notably plump and unafraid of humans, creating a harmonious coexistence between wildlife and people. It’s truly a fantastic aspect of this place. Summer here is just perfect, with countless huge trees that seem to carry centuries of history. The effort New Zealanders must have invested in preserving this natural and cultural heritage is impressive—trees, the church, the community—it all comes together beautifully. Adjacent to the park is a river, and on the opposite side stand some ancient buildings, adding to the charm. It’s a fantastic spot to explore with family, offering a wide variety of plants and an atmosphere that invites you to slow down and admire the beauty around you。

I had the best time. Penny was our guide in a cute little electric bus - fully enclosed from the cold blustery day. She knew so much about the plants and trees and had interesting stories about the history of the gardens.

A beautiful place to relax. There are plenty of sitting areas. The Botanic Garden tour costs $20, you can get a $2 discount coupon from iLEX. There are many parking space inside the Botanic garden. Tour guide Mike was very friendly, fun and knowledgeable. The tour took 1 hour.

A great place to walk on any day. Don't let the weather put you off it looks great even when wet. There are plenty of places to sit and relax. And there is also a nice cafe. The gardens and flowers look great neatly presented with an array of colour. Off street parking is possible but it quickly fills up. Situated behind the Museum on Hagley Park the Botanical Gardens are easy to find.

Awesome. I came there in a rainy day, but even with that, I loved it. Beautiful flowers and fields to walk, have a relax time and a good breath.
