“Good restaurant but one of the chefs has become the manager and he needs to get everything up to scratch. Menu prices aren't accurate, it's $20 for most vegetarian mains. If there's any trouble with the phone or online orders then I recommend to simply visit. They are open most days but not on Monday and not on Sunday for lunch (should be open on Sunday for dinner though)”

“My wife and I are visiting New Zealand from the States on our honeymoon and chose this place for dinner following recommendations we found on Reddit. We ordered the “Trust the Chef” prix fixe option with some mocktails and were absolutely floored by how good it was. We ended up with eight courses: prawn toast, pork wonton, mouthwatering chicken, a xiaolongbao and shumai each, crispy roasted duck in curry, stir fried oyster mushrooms, green beans in XO sauce and tiramisu for dessert. Every course was absolutely delicious, and I particularly loved the prawn toast and the roast duck. The portion sizes were also massive- we ended up with two takeaway boxes and could probably have saved more if we paced ourselves properly. Midnight Shanghai showed us a spectacular meal and I hope to visit them again someday!”

“This is a hidden gem. Tucked away a little, this is a terrific place. Historical and modern all at the same time. Marty was the sensational staff member who made our experience such a great memorable event. It was nice to see some of the Wigram Airfields history being kept for generations to come.”

“Our service from amberley hotel restaurant Was a really memorable event. We were greeted by a friendly, well groomed young man . Offering us the choice of seating in the tastefully decorated modern clean restaurant with breathtaking local artwork. Sean our waiter took our order he was verry attentive and friendly bringing our order it was beautifully presented, and the food was delivered hot . The meal was delicious, succulent meat fresh seasoned vegetables and all with gravy . Sean repeatedly checking on our needs. Wonderfully delicious food, friendly staff and warm inviting space. Thanks to Sean and the team we will be back.”

“Have stayed at this hotel many times and I have to say it definitely is one of my favorite hotels to stay in lovely staff lovely rooms comfortable beds and spa jet bath in our room, the only thing I would recommend is getting the place fitted out with sound deading can hear people in room next to you other than that the restaurant food is pretty awesome, my main highlight everytime is the buffet breakfast it is top notch”

“Clean shop, great product. Fish is nice and thick with a clean batter. Staff are nice and can understand the order! The hotdog doesn't have a stick which was werid. Scoop size is very big. One scoop is huge!”

It was definitely cramped as there were a few groups of people, but the order did take a bit to come but it was delicious in the end and worth the wait. The waffles were made well and had a generous amount of toppings and the crepe was made well also with generous amount of filling. Overall good experience and would eat again.”

The waiter( I guessing might be the boss’s son) is super friendly, choices of food is awesome ( a la carte or buffet style), great environment to suit family with children or friends, what else can you ask for. “Both food and service were truly excellent. Loved their hot stone bowl and lemongrass chicken with vermicelli noodles. They adjusted the amount of condensed milk in iced Vietnamese coffee to match my preference and it came out absolutely perfect - took me straight back to Hanoi!”

“Sal's is our absolute favourite pizza place, we go every week for date night. Recently moved over this side of town and absolutely thrilled that the local Sal's is just as good as the one in town. We've been to almost every store in Christchurch now and always have the same great experience. Nothing compares to Sal's. The Papanui staff were friendly and provided excellent customer service. Pizza was hot, fresh and delicious. Highly recommend the buffalo chicken pizza and pepperoni wheel.”

“I decided to buy from Hell Pizza Hereford street after seeing a lot of recent bad reviews from the Ferry Road store. Hereford Street had far more positive reviews so went ahead ordering a pizza, it was awesome, would buy from them again, appreciate the coupons I got with the order also.”

“Coeliac super friendly! Been great with being coeliac and in the early days would phone and confirm my choices. Always consistent and hardly ever had an issue. Feel safe eating here and that in itself is worth 5 stars.”

“We had a lovely lunch at Winnie Bagoes with my work crew yesterday. It was a beautiful day, so we sat outside ... perfect spot to enjoy the sun and people watch. Service was excellent from the moment we arrived. Our server quickly put the umbrella up, took our drink orders, and was back in no time with them. He handled all our pizza questions like a pro — friendly, clear, and efficient. The pizzas were delicious (as always), and everything came out promptly. A relaxed, sunny lunch with great service and great food. Would definitely recommend for a casual group lunch in town.”
