Came through last week to celebrate my birthday, had been waiting to eat here for ages and was very excited for the opportunity. The food was incredible but it felt like we were forgotten about, it took almost half an hour from when we were seated to be offered drinks, the drinks then arrived after our starter was already finished, we weren’t checked on enough and although the food was great I left somewhat disappointed.

We had a mixed experience here. The prawn spaghetti was disappointing β€” it sat in a soupy sauce that made the pasta gluggy, and the prawns tasted watered down. The pile of raw rocket on top felt out of place, and the tomatoes tasted like canned tomatoes. The ribeye was cooked well but a bit fatty, and the combination of the mushroom sauce with the caramelised onion was very overpowering. The margarita pizza topping was cheesy and tasty, but the crust was hard and cardboard-like. Our servers were fantastic β€” friendly and attentive. However, we did hear what sounded like a manager loudly calling across the room to staff and even telling someone off in front of guests, which felt unprofessional. It’s a shame, as the decor and interior are stunning β€” the food just doesn’t match up.

My partner and I came here for a First Table reservation at 5pm on a Sunday. The restaurant was cold for a while until our mains arrived, but I suppose they had just opened so I'll give some grace. We ordered the Polenta Fries, Linguine Carbonara, and Molto Carne pizza which were all very lovely!! (Although heads up on the Molto Carne Pizza, the black olives come whole, not cut into pieces. I don't know if that's the traditional way, but we had never had big olives whole before so just letting you know). Our waiter was extremely lovely and the portions were very generous too. Something I loved about my Carbonara was truly how much there was (enough for lunch leftovers the next day), and how much bacon was in it, compared to other restaurants in the nearby CBD. The only thing I can fault was their lemon, lime, and bitters, which had no fizz and was quite plain considering it was $7.50, maybe I came on an off-time. Otherwise a great night, I would recommend and will definitely be back!!

Service? Great. Our waitress was lovely, no complaints. Time we had to wait for food : 40 minutes What tasted good: Chicken parmigiana. Mushroom Ravioli. Pizza. What surprisingly did not: Marinara Prawn Spaghetti Carbonara Coming to this restaurant the second time, expected the long wait time as the wait time we had before was long, 1 he 20 minutes - but it was worth the wait. Tonight wasn’t worth it at all. The three pastas lacked seasoning, my spaghetti rocket and prawn dish didn’t feel like I was eating pasta but ramen. Same went for the marinara. Carbonara was overcooked sauce and it was just a disappointment. The waitress after we ate and talked about it chalked it up to the kitchen staff being swamped and made shortcuts just for the sake of taking the dishes out. They were full, sure. But I’d rather wait longer than have been served food like that. Amazing waitstaff, watered down sub par food, amazing ambience.

All things coincide, an excellent restaurant in all respects, delicious as in heaven, the restaurant is very, very beautiful and interesting, an atmosphere of heaven, courteous and pampering service, as if we were the only customers in the restaurant, and it was full, highly recommended.

I've been here before and had a great experience. This time it was for my birthday, so I was excited all week, as I love Italian food, especially Lasagne. I could eat lasagne every day. However, I really did not enjoy Cafe Valentino's lasagne. For $28 I would expect an Italian restaurant to do the dish justice, but it was very bland. It was mostly tomato sauce, dry mince, and hardly any cheese. I could see very little bechamel sauce, which is what makes a lasagne. Even an enormous amount of salt and pepper didn't add any taste. My fiancΓ© had the pork and fennel meat balls which was also very tasteless and disappointing. The duck fat potatoes we're greasy, yet dry in the middle. We left almost all of them. On a positive note, the passionfruit belini was nice. Also the lamb rib starter was exceptional, and the prawns were tasty too, maybe a little small but at least the flavour was good. Back to the lasagne, I've had better ones from pubs, deli counters and even frozen ones! I'm so gutted, as I'm not a fussy eater.... This was the worst lasagne ever. $135 wasted.

The service was good, food was good, however it took a long time for food to be served. The menu is primarily pasta and pizza (pizza oven in the kitchen). It's a nicely decorated restaurant.
