Insanely delicious! I got the laksa beef rendang, it's soooooo good. The broth is creamy, beef is soooo flavorful and tender, fried tofu and eggs... It all goes so well together. I'd order it again! I also got the soda gembria, sweet and refreshing all together! Love this place. Servers are so friendly and sweet, the ambience is fun. Highly recommend!

Delicious food (also a very rare find in a lot of places dishes-wise), great atmosphere, good music playing, very lovely service! One of my favorite places in Auckland that I’ve been. Also on the liveliest and loveliest part of or near CBD. Wish I had discovered it sooner since I’m leaving now, but top three for sure if not my favorite!

First time trying Java and it was definitely worth the trip. The flavours are packed with punches but the portion is just the right size. We went for dinner but I'm sure the lunch options are just as good or even better. Can't wait to go again :)

Dropped in for the $10 lunch. It was simple, but very tasty and exceptional value - rice, omelet, choice of a vegetable dish. Really good value for money. I don't know many places where you can feed yourself for $10 for lunch. Cute interior design. Lots of space for groups of all sizes and people dining alone. A bunch of people turned up after us, so looks popular. The menu looks great, will come back another time to try it.

The BYO option was the selling point for me (corkage is $5.00 per bottle or six-pack) as well as the recommendation from my friend. It was a great first impression and I will certainly be going back to try the rest of the menu with my favourite bottle of wine of course. I did wonder whether cider is allowed so will ask this next time I'm there for sure. I ordered the fritter platter, nasi campur and for dessert: martabak manis. I enjoyed it all however, the oiliness of the fritter platter was a bit much. Not that the Indonesian pancake isn't light so if you're quite full from dinner maybe opt for the other dessert. I was fine as I love a pancake. I did like all the components of my main but not sure if I truly love tempe and tofu but that's just me as I'm not a huge tofu fan and it was my first time trying tempe. I think I'd try it again but maybe not in a sweet sauce. I wasn't too sure what the "greens" component was on my plate because it was just two slices of cucumber. Probably should've been a pile of cucumbers! Location is great, nice staff.

Situated on bustling K’Road, JAVA effortlessly blends with the surroundings in terms of its decor and cool ambience. The atmosphere exudes genuine Indonesian vibes, with the little details found in their tablecloths, plates, and charming knick-knacks representing Indonesian culture throughout the restaurant. The staff provided warm and helpful suggestions regarding their top dishes for an authentic culinary adventure. They were super easy to deal with. Our meal consisted of the Sambal Platter, Fritter Platter, Risoles, Penyet Platter, and the Mie Goreng Gila. The food's presentation was quite pleasing, with the Fritter Platter and Risoles standing out as highlights due to their delightful taste and appealing texture. Regrettably, the other dishes were excessively salty and couldn't be finished, which was disappointing. This situation suggests a need for some food testing to pinpoint where improvements can be made. Additionally, the beverages failed to impress. Overall, a few aspects related to the flavor of the food and drinks could benefit from attention to enhance the overall dining experience.

Lovely place! Very generous portions, great flavours and it was interesting to try different type of food I've never had before. No alcohol wasn't an issue at all !

Food was ok. The madura duck is not authentic. Should have been named bebek goreng. The duck tasted a bit plain. Price is above average. I guess you’re paying for the chic ambiance. Halal signage is not written anywhere in the premises. (Correct me if I’m wrong)
