Food was great! I really enjoyed the off-the-grill dish. We ordered the set menu and everything was lovely. There was just a small mix-up with dessert β it came out quite late after we asked, and by then the kitchen had already closed so another family member couldnβt order one. Overall, we had a good experience and enjoyed the food.
Thank you guys heaps for having us for christmas dinner! From the beautiful scenic drive to our waiter was absolutely brilliant, young guy blond hair (sorry didnt catch your name) very talented waiter remembering our order and service was exceptional! We had the set menu, 3 courses and wow, amazing meals! Definitely recommending you guys! Thank you!!
My wife and I celebrated our 25th (Silver) Wedding Anniversary with a meal here. The food, service, and atmosphere were great. The view out over the WaitΔkere Ranges was beautiful, despite the overcast evening. It was unfortunate that we were unable to have our preferred and reserved outdoor seating, due to the verandah being inaccessible for wheelchairs.
Food was delicious servers were very polite and friendly. Inside dining and outside dining both beautiful seating. Out doors have an amazing view ans great space big enough to fit a nice small company get together they also have covers surrounding to deck which covers the whole outdoor area incase it rains as well as outdoor heaters. Last time I went our table was situated inside and placed infront of a cupboard that staff members had to keep coming collecting things from during our dining time which was a little bit of an inconvenience especially when they decided to have our seats directly in front of the cupboard. It just interrupted our dining time being asked to move while eating so they could collect items from this cupboard. Otherwise service was great food was great.
My name is Te Awhi - We held my dadβs 60th birthday dinner here last night and the atmosphere were unmatched! Nick and his team were super friendly and efficient despite the large number of orders. They were very accomodating with every request and were always floating around where needed. The food was amazing, we had compliments from every guest about the delectable menu items. We ordered a variety of food and it was all demolished and no crumbs were left. Thank you Olive fam, we will definitely be back in the future.
Attentive staff and great food. The fish burger was a bit spicy to my taste, and may have been rejected by someone with less tolerance. I still loved it. Served in time with a sesame bun and warm fries. Dear darling wife had a fantastic salad.
Scenic views. Excellent service. Cozy and welcoming atmosphere. Amazingly delicious food! One of the best places we ate in New Zealand! You have to drive uphill for around 15 minutes to get there. The nature surrounding the way up is amazing. It's a very pleasant drive. We chose the Oliver Plate and the Lamb Cutlets. Both dishes were just amazingly flavourful! Certainly the best Lamb Cutlets we ever had! The diversity of food and flavours in the Oliver Plate is surprisingly good. All our expectations were exceeded. As for the dessert, we went for the Mixed Berry Real Fruit ice cream. Indeed real fruit! Amazing flavour and make. You should try it as well.
Lovely location with attentive and friendly staff. The food was yummy. We ordered the battered snapper which was cooked beautifully with a uniquely tasty batter, meat and greet burger, Moroccan chicken and a well cooked yummy scotch fillet. Ended the meal with a tiramisu, light and fluffy sticky date pudding and a mixed berry ice-cream. A very satisfying meal. Will definitely be recommending this restaurant to family and friends. Thank you Team Olive for a beautiful meal.
Amazing food, amazing views. How could it get any better? We had the seafood platter to share, I had Camapri and he a whisky... reasonable price and delicious. Drove up to the road to Arataki centre after, more stunning views! which was fun. A great little trip out of the city. Well worth it an not that far.
