“My husband and I got married at McHughes on the 24th October 2025. We had both our ceremony & reception here. The venue is set right on the beautiful Cheltenham beach with stunning panoramic sea views of Rangitoto, North Head and the Waitamata Harbour. Right from the start James was great at communicating and was very accommodating, helpful and supportive. At the wedding rehearsal we set up the arch and were allowed to store decorations for the day. It was easy for our florist and DJ to set up for the ceremony held inside. James did an amazing job setting up the venue, with gorgeous tables and chair covers, Inside there are lovely big pillars with fairy lights and a dance floor. We got a lot of positive feedback from our guests on how delicious the canapés, buffet dinner and desserts were, with a wonderful variety to choose from. James and his team were very well organised and made sure everything ran smoothly. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and attentive to our guests and made the day very special and memorable. We had the Gold package and it was very affordable and reasonable, especially compared to other venues. We would not hesitate into recommending James, Raj and the team at McHughes for a wedding or any private function event. Thank you all very much ❤️”

“This place is take out only and has been in the area for over a decade! Cute little mom and pop shop. Fast service and the food comes out so crispy each time! I typically get their fish and chips because of how thin and crispy the fish is!”

“We’ve had the pleasure of dining at Gochu for the 5th time, and it never disappoints! Every visit has been an amazing experience, with consistently delicious food and excellent service. This time, we tried the Restaurant of the Month menu, and it was absolutely worth it and a bomb- such great value and packed with flavour. Huge kudos to the chefs, especially Chef Rhea, for creating such memorable dishes. Gochu is definitely one of our favourite places to dine!”

“friendly attentive staff, who didn’t miss a beat.we had the calamari to start, yum! then 12 hour lamb which is massive and so juicy and delicious with a side of asparagus, which i was super surprise how good it tasted! all three dishes had there individual special magic sprinkles bits that i have no idea what half of them were , i just know it was delicious , and the bonus being there is so much lamb we got to take it home, so looking forward to having an other go tomorrow”

“If you’re in the Sylvia Park area and looking for a great Thai meal, there’s a cozy little restaurant outside mall definitely worth a visit. It’s a small place, but what it lacks in size, it makes up for in warmth and charm. The atmosphere is relaxed, the service is friendly, and it feels like one of those local gems that’s still somewhat under the radar. We ordered the chicken with cashew nuts and the pineapple fried rice, and both dishes were absolutely spot on. The chicken was tender and juicy, perfectly coated in a savoury, slightly sweet sauce, and the roasted cashews gave it a nice crunch. The pineapple fried rice came served in a generous portion, packed with flavour and fresh ingredients — you could really taste the balance between the sweet pineapple, fragrant rice, and subtle spices. What really stood out was how fresh everything tasted. You can tell they use quality ingredients, and the dishes are prepared with care. Prices were also very reasonable, which is always a bonus, especially considering the portion sizes and flavour. Parking in the mall, can get busy on weekends. Clean toilets and friendly staff, food can be customized as per ur needs. To top it off, they serve alcohol too — a nice touch if you’re looking to enjoy a cold beer or a glass of wine with your meal. Overall, it’s a great spot whether you’re grabbing a quick bite after shopping or looking for a laid-back dinner. We’ll definitely be going back.”

“Mexicali Fresh is probably one of the best chains for Mexican food in New Zealand. I'm consistently impressed with the quality of the food and the prices are pretty decent. The ambience of this particular restaurant is really nice. The portions are quite large as well - I had a mini Macho Burrito and that was probably more food than I needed. The regular size must be massive.”

“Pita House is the OG Kebab joint nestled amongst Onehunga's commercial district. The family owned and operated business is authentic to the word, not only will they serve you the best kebab you've ever eaten, you can also stock up on all you middle eastern groceries and their inhouse Pita breads which are often still warm in the bag from coming off the conveyor belt. I Love this place, love the people & will always travel near or far if the temples screaming for a delicious meal.”

“I’ve had lunch a few times here recently (my apartment is a few hundred metres away). Both times the food has been good quality cafe-style fare, and prices are reasonable for the post-COVID environment. I like the place and food and expect to eat here two to three times a fortnight. Happy to recommend to locals, people visiting Central Park for business, and anyone else who doesn’t have small noisy offspring.”

“Very expensive for a takeaway shop - but the food lives up to the price. The portions are reasonably sized. We had Singapore noodle with prawns, and a Thai Green Curry. Both were simply delicious. Though I tried not to, I devoured that curry in a single night. The meat was tender. The vegetables well balanced. And the broth. Oh the broth. It was watery, but so jam packed with flavour that my eyebrows nearly sizzled off. If you have more than a dollar or two to spare, go here. It's the store on Great South Road that kinda looks like it sells either vacuum cleaners or PC parts with it's odd, green aesthetic.”
