One of our go-to Thai restaurants! The food is always delicious and the service is consistently warm and welcoming. Shrimp cake, crispy pork salad, and tom yum fried rice are our top picks!

Food Pad Thai: Serviceable but nothing special. It leaned average, lacking the punchy flavours of tamarind, wok-char, and balance of sweet, sour, and savoury that make a good Pad Thai stand out. Mango Sticky Rice: A real disappointment, the mango tasted like it came from Costco’s frozen/commercial stock rather than fresh, ripe fruit. Sticky rice is supposed to feel indulgent with creamy coconut sauce and fragrant rice, but with flat mango, the whole dish fell apart. Consistency: Across visits, the food feels inconsistent, some dishes okay, others very underwhelming. That inconsistency makes it hard to trust what you’ll get next time. Service & Atmosphere Staff were friendly and helpful, which softens the blow a little. The space itself is fine, nothing special, but functional enough for casual dining. Verdict This is one of the most inconsistent restaurants you’ve tried. The Pad Thai was average, the mango sticky rice felt commercial and disappointing, and the overall food quality doesn’t justify a return. Friendly staff and okay space aren’t enough to balance the uneven cooking. No reason to come back. ⭐ Taste: 5/10 ⭐ Freshness: 4/10 ⭐ Service: 8/10 ⭐ Value: 5/10 Overall: Overhyped and inconsistent, plenty of better Thai spots around.

If you’re in the Sylvia Park area and looking for a great Thai meal, there’s a cozy little restaurant outside mall definitely worth a visit. It’s a small place, but what it lacks in size, it makes up for in warmth and charm. The atmosphere is relaxed, the service is friendly, and it feels like one of those local gems that’s still somewhat under the radar. We ordered the chicken with cashew nuts and the pineapple fried rice, and both dishes were absolutely spot on. The chicken was tender and juicy, perfectly coated in a savoury, slightly sweet sauce, and the roasted cashews gave it a nice crunch. The pineapple fried rice came served in a generous portion, packed with flavour and fresh ingredients — you could really taste the balance between the sweet pineapple, fragrant rice, and subtle spices. What really stood out was how fresh everything tasted. You can tell they use quality ingredients, and the dishes are prepared with care. Prices were also very reasonable, which is always a bonus, especially considering the portion sizes and flavour. Parking in the mall, can get busy on weekends. Clean toilets and friendly staff, food can be customized as per ur needs. To top it off, they serve alcohol too — a nice touch if you’re looking to enjoy a cold beer or a glass of wine with your meal. Overall, it’s a great spot whether you’re grabbing a quick bite after shopping or looking for a laid-back dinner. We’ll definitely be going back.

Below average takeaway Thai food. I can’t believe this takeaway can survive the intense competition of food industry in Auckland. Crispy pork is far from crispy. Green curry is watery. Fried rice is not even fried. Sticky rice tastes like prepared frozen food. I don’t know where the good reviews come from. Might be different chef.

Average food. Food too sweet and did not seem fresh. Staff were nice, place was tidy.

We came by for a team dinner. The restaurant is located away from the restaurant area near the cinemas. Instead, it is located under the foodcourt area on the K mart end of the mall. The place is decently sized and was able to house multiple groups of people. We did book beforehand since we had a group of around 10 people. The menu looks interesting and I was told it is similar to the branch in the city. You order at the counter and then the food gets brought once it ready. We ordered a few items to share. For the entrees, the chive cake was interesting as it was like a turnip cake filled with chive and not a pancake. Most of the mains that we had were quite nice, particularly the crispy pork and the pad Thai. The tom yum fried rice was also interesting. Their Thai milk tea was also nice. We grabbed the banana pocket and the coconut Jelly for dessert. The banana pocket was essentially a banana samosa with chocolate sauce to dip it in. The coconut jelly was interesting since it had jelly pieces in the coconut water as well as the coconut flesh inside the coconut. The food here is quite nice and the food didn't take long to come out. Quite a nice place for food in Sylvia Park.

Entrance can be hard to find, but it is located at the car park side near Starbucks. Simple menu, but had all the usual Thai favourites. They had a long table in the corner to cater for our large group, but best to book ahead if lots of people. Great service and the food came out super fast! The appetisers are delicious!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Aroy, a fantastic Thai restaurant located in Sylvia Park. I must say, I was thoroughly impressed with my experience. The food was delicious and served in generous portions, and I particularly enjoyed the beef pho which in a unique shaped bowl was packed with flavour. My wife also enjoyed her dish, the Thai basil chicken with hot chili, which had the perfect amount of spice. But it wasn't just the food that impressed us - the people working there were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made our dining experience all the more enjoyable. The tables were also clean and well-maintained, which was a nice touch. One thing that stood out to me was how quiet and peaceful the restaurant was, despite being located in a busy mall like Sylvia Park. It was tucked away from the food court, which made for a more relaxing atmosphere. Overall, I highly recommend Aroy to anyone looking for delicious Thai food in a comfortable and friendly environment. You won't be disappointed!

Good food at a reasonable price. You have to find the place on the outside of Sylvia park close to Star Bucks entrance. All the dishes we had was quite good but perhaps need a bit of spice to give it that authentic Thai heat. That said I'm sure many can't eat hot food so perhaps that's why it's so mild. Drinks menu is quite limited. Mango sticky rice is actually quite good. Decor of the place was also quite nice. I personally love industrial look but also wished that they did a bit more to add authentic Thai elements
