“A nice relaxed Sunday brunch at Cafe Kaizen. Lots of cabinet and menu choices to please all. Lovely staff and super quick service. Amazing coffee and hot chocolate to compliment our meals. The only decent place in Porirua cbd in our opinion, highly recommend.”

“We went in for the first time today with a group of 6. The good humoured Maîre d’ was able to accommodate our group and we all had the burger special. The seating was comfortable and the food was sooo good. The staff are really jovial and friendly with a dash of cheekiness which we loved. We shall be back!”

“Good family meal, something for everyone. Loved the pork chops and mash, two for one nachos were a popular option, and lamb shank was great. Order and pay at the bar was handy as we had a table of two groups. Also have a good seperate gluten free menu with was needed on this occasion.”

This was our place for breakfast, the food was consistently excellent (especially the eggs benedict without spinach), the coffee was superb and the service excellent. The house manager in the morning (from England) super friendly and the wait staff lovely too. Thank you”

Ordering was a breeze (thanks Rosie!!) the food arrived faster than my typical “fast food” visit, and the atmosphere at the quiz was like I was playing The Chase with Bradley Walsh. “Love this place, it is most definitely THE BEST address in Island Bay ! Staff is so friendly and lovely, the garden bar is a really cool spot to hang out on a nice day (and dog friendly !) and the gorilla burgers are really yummy. “If you become a member there you can get a discount on food and drink. Atmosphere was pretty chill when i went down but they do usually always have something going on weather it be a band or karaoke etc. Food was on point I had the ribeye steak with all the sides, staff were lovely. Wheelchair accessible kid friendly, they have a small timezone area out in the atrium. Be AWARE you need to be a member or with a member to drink alcohol there but anybody from the public can eat food there. Always a great go to when I need a steak meal”

“Had the 8-course tasting dinner with wine pairing and it was such a great experience. Every dish was packed with flavour and looked amazing on the plate — you could tell a lot of thought went into the menu. Some combinations really surprised me, like the beetroot carpaccio with macadamia crusted feta, and the smoked eel with caviar — so good! The wines were perfectly matched to each course, starting with a crisp Champagne and ending with a bold Pinotage. It really brought out the flavours of the food. Service was spot on — the team were friendly, easy to talk to, and kept the evening feeling relaxed but still special. We never felt rushed, and everything flowed nicely from one course to the next. Left feeling full, happy, and impressed. Would absolutely recommend this to anyone who enjoys great food, wine, and a memorable night out.”

“Wow had the most amazing delicious meal in a beautiful warm environment. Our server a young Indian man was ever so helpful and attentive to our needs especially for my mum who has a sore back he brought out extra cushions for her comfort. My mum wanted to take me and my son to brunch and I'm so glad we visited this fine establishment in raumati will definitely visit again !we ordered 5 spice braised pork belly mash potatoes veges my son ordered smashed avocado egg beetroot hummus on ciabatta toast my mum has sirloin steak medium rare cooked to perfection, chips and salad”

“I have been to this venue twice now. On the most recent visit I had the Thunder burger. I like the atmosphere and the low-key concerts they host. The staff are friendly and efficient. I will continue to attend the concerts and enjoy the food at this cafe'.”

“We regularly come here with the kids, extended family and friends! We love the outdoor but undercover section. It’s warm even on a cold day! We so appreciate the kids area and try to book a table near it! The staff are always friendly, quick and efficient! We have several food allergies with the kiddos and it’s never been a problem here! Kids love it! The only negative is that there is not a dairy free option for kids dessert eg only soft serve. Would be fabulous to have another option even ice blocks.”
