“Great American themed bar, with saddle seating at the bar and plenty of cowboy hats to go around! The decor throughout is great and in keeping with the theme and everywhere is clean. I was only visiting for a drink but the bar staff proactively pointed out the happy hour which was lovely. There’s a great atmosphere with the music and prices are reasonable too - one of the best bars on the street for me!”
“We very much enjoyed our dining experience at Lone Star Petone. The food was excellent and the servers very friendly.”
“The best breakfast/ brunch spot in Porirua! We had the veggie breakfast and chilli oil scrambled eggs, food was very well done and tasted great. 100% recommended.”
“Went there for a few drinks during our holidays. Service is great and there is a good selection of drinks there. Cracking place to chill out.”
“Spacious cafe with good food and very friendly staff. Prices are also very reasonable and it is one of the best places on the Massey campus for exterior views. It could use some more support from the University in terms of signage as the cafe is somewhat difficult to find.”
“Always had a good time going there!”
“Was sober driver but my whanau had an awesome time”
“Got here and there's only one guy working, alarm bells start ringing. They were NOT warranted. Despite working by himself the guy got our food to us in pretty quick time. The food was spectacular! The wife had the cheese burger with was quite sizeable! I had the Roadhouse burger. Both came with fries which were well cooked. The aioli that came with the fries was super tasty and not just overpowered by garlic. As for the burgers, WOW! Perfectly cooked patties, crunchy coleslaw, tasty sauces. I was joking with the wife that I could have easily eaten the triple Roadhouse to win the cap. I could not have. The patties are huge! The venue? Very comfortable seats well decorated as an American Roadhouse would be. Very happy guy working behind the bar. I can't fault anything about this place. We will definitely be back!!!”
“While waiting for a friend to arrive, I popped in to have a drink and ended up staying a few hours more. Great drinks. Great service. I didn’t want to lose my spot so one of the staff saved my table for me while I used the loo. Great location. Great prices.”
“Fantastic service from the barista just now crafting a lovely chai latte and walking it all the way to the upstairs seating for me. Also tastes amazing!”
“Very nice museum, it is interactive.”
“Warm and friendly atmosphere with cool staff and a good variety of entertainment. Previously hosted the highest RTP % pokies in wellington but has since been reduced likely to accommodate new gaming systems. RTP is still higher than average so definitely worth popping in if you're in the area!”
“The staff and the vibe are top notch, they always look like they’re having fun! I feel like the drinks are so well priced especially compared to other bars! We love coming once Broder Beats is on for more upbeat and fun music!! See you guys for Halloween on Saturday”
“Booked for our Christmas function. The Platters and Pizza were excellent with a great assortment. Bar staff were friendly and the wait staff attentive, especially Riley was looking after our table. Will definitely visit again”
“Awesome place to spend a few hours waiting for your flight at Wellington Airport. Head up the lift to the mezzanine level outside the Rydges hotel. We had a couple of drinks and the ordered spicy hot nuts which were Cinnamon spiced and not hot spice as expected. Burgers and fries were great and a perfect supper before flying.”
“Very friendly place. Great if you want a beer with nice down to earth Kiwi people.”
““No gods or kings, only cocktails.” The vibes here are super chill—perfect if you’re after something more lowkey. The place seems inspired by fantasy themes and games, giving it a mystical feel. We arrived as a group of four around 10:00 pm on a Saturday. The person serving us was really lovely, taking the time to explain the different types of drinks they offer and happily answering our questions about specific liquors or custom requests. She also made some great recommendations. We ordered the White Witch, Banana Bread (brandy), Arkangel (gin), and The Last Word (I think that’s what it was called—Chartreuse-based). I especially enjoyed how fragrant the cocktails were, with the Banana Bread and Arkangel standing out. It was also cool to learn that they make a lot of their liquors and mixers in-house— including infused boozy cucumbers. We had a great time and really appreciated the hospitality. Would definitely love to visit again next time I’m in Wellington.”
“We are visiting Wellington and came across this bar. What a brilliant bar. This is the best bar I’ve been to in years. Great vibe, excellent music, good booze, and a unique setup. Loved it! We drunk beer and played pool.”
“Not one to google reviews often, but I highly recommend this place! Great beer, chilled out atmosphere and the staff were super friendly. The food was great and had a great time. So a well deserved 5 star review which don't come often from me. Oh and it’s dog friendly! Huge bonus points!”
“Beautiful villa restaurant tucked in between two high rise buildings. Came for WoW and absolutely loved the service, the staff were interesting in talking to us and very friendly. The food was exceptional - one of us had the set menu for WoW and two ordered off the menu (love that option).”
“Very small back bar, simply because all the bottles are hanging off the ceiling. Is it a good idea, I asked? The very professional and knowledgeable barman answered that it was the best set up he's ever worked with! The cocktails are very well executed, the chats are fun, the venue is comfortable, warm, cosy. Try their signature cocktails (the lover boy in particular) but challenge them with other classics, they will know the recipe. It is also very popular with the local hospitality community, which is always a good recognition.”
“I'm always a fan of going to restaurants located slightly outside the central city area. I tend to feel a sense of community and not to mention supporting local business. Prime spot in Brooklyn, and you won't miss it. To top it off, friendly service always helps. I felt the layout creates a different vibe through the restaurant, a nice touch. My personal favourite on the night was the prawn toasts, yummm and the chef's dessert of the night.”
“Brilliant choice of cocktails. Cosy, speakeasy vibe. Staff friendly, knowledgeable, and absolutely charming. We asked for several cocktails not on the menu, and boy, did they deliver.”
“Amazing experience for our Valentine's Day date! The set menu was excellent value and a stunning range of flavours. Good service and cozy atmosphere. Our only minor constructive feedback is we weren't aware of the set menu until we arrived. It wasn't an issue for us, however being proactively informed beforehand would have been appreciated :-). Thanks for an excellent meal - we'll be back!”
