Ordered two vegan burgers over the phone. Was given meat burgers, manager would not refund or replace. He also hung up on me and was quite rude. Super disappointed. Edit: I was right there when my friend ordered and she said O.G Vege and then followed it up with an order of vegan jungle fries. It's word against word there and I don't blame you taking the side of your employee but it does leave me feeling a little condescended when you are solely blaming the customer for the mistake of the business. I would have really appreciated a refund or at least a considerate approach to the mistake as the food was quite expensive, I don't like supporting the meat industry and I couldn't eat the burgers. I hope you will be more considerate to your future customers when there is a mistake. Cheers.

Love this place, it is most definitely THE BEST address in Island Bay ! Staff is so friendly and lovely, the garden bar is a really cool spot to hang out on a nice day (and dog friendly !) and the gorilla burgers are really yummy. Fantastic experience, I will absolutely be back and highly recommend !

Wanted to give 2 and a half stars, but 3 is okay because the service was nice. Burger was small for its price not much difference than a McDonald's burger, cold burger bun, chips lots of little off cut hot chips more of those than full nice long decent sized chips, drinks are expensive. Tables outside need some work.. small amount of food for price, would not return but great service.

Without wanting to be too critical things didn't go very well when we visited for a meal. Arriving at 5.45pm our orders were taken. At 6.10pm we were told our table was reserved for 7pm - no problem I thought as we'll have finished our burgers by then. But by 7.10pm our meal still hadn't arrived (or anybody to claim our table). Our server initially told us the kitchen was very busy which seemed unlikely when we arrived but subsequently confirmed our order had been lost. We were offered free drinks for the inconvenience which was appreciated. But I found the burgers somewhat underwhelming. I had expected a gourmet style burger but it wasn't too much different than a Big Mac but with a much longer wait time. The staff were very apologetic. I quite like Brew'd as a place to go for a drink but not so much for a meal.

Great easy location and good food. Wasn't sure how I was going to tackle the Beef & Chook Burger as it was so high, but I had to try and managed it - bun could probably have been a touch bigger to allow for all the contents, but small point. Son had the kids burger which he enjoyed. The quesadilla did have sweet chilli sauce (which was a surprise as it isn't mentioned in the menu) which meant my son wasn't as keen, but for me it was nice. Service as always is friendly, the place well presented and with the outdoor area out the back it's always a nice spot if that's your thing.

Great Island Bay addition from the Wellington Hospitality Group! In the style of the surrounding suburb, Bretβs is a bit more kid back than your average bistro. A sunroom for a dining room, a decent-sized, turfed backyard and a cool main bar ensure enough room for all. In true WHG style, the drinks offerings are strong. An excellent selection of beers with a preference towards Fortune Favours, Garage Project, and Panhead, heads off a large drinks list. Taps change frequently just to keep you up to date. Likewise food goes down a treat with four pizzas (and a Two-For-One deal Sundays) six burgers, and a deliciously charming mains section. The Brisket Burger was superb, the calamari salad was hobbled up quick, and the fried chicken - whether plated or part of a beef and chicken burger - didnβt last long. Go here for a quintessentially kiwi experience topped with good food and drink!
