“We regularly come here with the kids, extended family and friends! We love the outdoor but undercover section. It’s warm even on a cold day! We so appreciate the kids area and try to book a table near it! The staff are always friendly, quick and efficient! We have several food allergies with the kiddos and it’s never been a problem here! Kids love it! The only negative is that there is not a dairy free option for kids dessert eg only soft serve. Would be fabulous to have another option even ice blocks.”

“Great well managed bottle shop. We go to bands when they put them on here, and it's a great little local secret. Big bar, bit sports barish, but hilariously great fun and cool room.”

“Food here is great. Huge portions and good prices. Theres always sport on and if youre look8ng for something specific if you ask the guys they will turn it on for you (assuming its available) theres also a separate area if youve got a group and the barstaff are pretty cool.”

“Had the venue for a private function. The staff were so helpful and the food was so tasty with so many options between beef, vegetarian and seafood. Also we had very delicious mini donuts for the dessert beside other options which I didn’t try.”

“The Sunday night roast smorgasbord is a great value quality meal in a bright open plan venue. The food delivery is fast and easy to access with large numbers of customers present. Many in our group had seconds, so plenty of quality cuts of meat including roast beef, fish and pork roast were available. The deserts were excellent as was the service. We will back for our next large party event.”

“I stay here frequently…. So why? The single room is perfect… a classic, traditional pub hotel room. No pretending, spotlessly clean, well appointed will all the quintessentials. This property represents absolute excellent value. Furthermore, these marvellous old pubs are a what cities were once about. The bar and food is excellent too… I received a 10% discount chit that was an added bonus for my stay on all food and beverage. Thank you…. XX”

“Vibrant and bustling Cafe with quality coffee and absolutely delicious food...the staff were very friendly and warm...food came quickly and was a cut above your usual breakfast fare...this Cafe has quite a Eutopean vibe set in downtown Wellington...if you're looking for a great breakfast experience, look no further than Astoria”

“We had such a great Christmas party here! The staff were super friendly. The food was delicious with really generous portions, and everyone commented on how consistent it was given the size of our group. The Christmas crackers and table settings were a really nice touch too. It was a fantastic night - highly recommend :)”

“Perfect location and size for my son's 21st. They already have lights, screen, mic, Ipad for music (or DJ booth) set up - too easy. You can bring in your own food or pre-order bar snacks from Dakota downstairs. Amazing staff, especially George who took care of everything on the night, nothing was too much trouble. I hired The Powwow Room (and mirrorme photo booth) through The Wellington Entertainment Group. Nik and Zak were extremely helpful and communicative in the weeks leading up to the party. Would recommend.”

“This place is AWESOME. The food was outstanding, and beautifully cooked. The only let down is the photos on the menu doesnt do there food justice. They paid for a professional shoot but what they got looks like a 5 year old took the pics. If the photographer is reading this feedback...do the right thing and set it right oh yeah and give yourself 10000000 upper cuts. Staff were awesome as well. Well done team, ill definately will be coming back for sure.”
