First time visiting this place, and it was with my work team for a Christmas dinner and our Secret Santa activity. I only got something light because I didn't want a large meal, which was the loaded fries. It wasn't a big serving by the look of it, but it was still really filling, and technically I shouldn't have finished it. The atmosphere was very business-oriented. The building is clean and bright. Customer service was fantastic. It was very warm inside, a little too much, but I was glad to see some windows open. All in all, seeing the team's food come out, it all looked fantastic.

The pub is generally a nice place to be, but it was unfortunately let down by the food and drink. We were having a meal before going onto a party, but they only have large beers, no halves. The fish and chips I ordered was overcooked with a burnt oily taste and the batter was soaked in cooking oil. It's a shame the food spoiled the experience. I probably wouldn't come back here again.

Clearly Politicians donβt like quality food or ambiance. My wife and I had recently moved to Wellington and were looking forward to a meal at this so called gastro pub. It was a Saturday night and empty apart from two other tables. The stark white newly refurbished interior was sterile and soulless. American 80βs music played too loud and the lights were harsh. The food on the other hand was worse. The fish of the day was not fresh and the undercooked cauliflower and cheese base was a failure so that was left unfinished. The venison sausage and mash was mediocre at best. Just another sports bar. A waste of money.

We had an awesome spot at the backbencher for an afternoon pint in the sunshine as we watched the people of Wellington pass by. Some great beer options on tap, we ordered a chicken pizza that was a little bland, but it got the job done. Good spot, we will come back next time we visit Wellington

Iconic bar. We arrived after the kitchen had closed so ordered a LOT of bar snacks for a group of 15+ people and were not disappointed. The staff were friendly and looked after us.

Probably at the higher price end compared to the rest of the coffee shop we have checked out but definitely a good spot to sit and relax after exploring the seat of New Zealand power. You may see one or two guys youβve seen on the telly if you stay long enough.

Palmer cooler was 95% wine with a strawbery fragrance ... okay but could've been a bit sweeter. Scotch fillet was nice and I normally like pate, but this dish doesn't need it. I doggy bagged my loaded fries entree because they came at the same time as the main... I prioritized the main and took the fries home to reheat later. Staff were very accommodating.

Directly opposite Parliament, funny caricature statues, yummy food and nice staff.
