Nice Hideaway from the busy streets of Wellington. Great venue with Sun glazed Garden Bar.

We were served by Ash who provided top notch 5 star service. She made sure our drink and meal orders were taken promptly and all served at the right time. The meals were great. Ash settled our bill at the end accurately to our satisfaction so we were very happy with our experience at Khandallah Trading company. The place is highly recommend.

Went for lunch and ordered the belly pork bites and the steak. The pork bites were deep fried way too long, had no fat and very dry, almost inedible without the sauce. The sirloin steak looked nice on the plate, but it was not medium rare as ordered…closer to medium to well done. Unfortunately, this is not the first time they have overcooked the steak. I would not have ordered this at $37, if not for their $25 steak special that day. Definitely not worth the top price. Please go easy on the grill Chef!

We came here on a First Table for 2. Ordered two drinks, the pork belly bites starter, seasonal veggies, nachos, and fried chicken main. Total was about $130, or $80 after the first table discount. Was actually quite busy but wait staff were very attentive and efficient, though it was quite loud at times. Drinks and mains came out pretty promptly, starter came out at the same time as the mains. The food was sub-par. The fried chicken was juicy, but saying it's southern fried made me think it would be bone-in and spicy. It wasn't. The nachos were disappointing, loaded up with chips but with minimal sauce, meat, and other toppings. Pork belly was really fatty and way too rich. Veggies weren't charred but boiled, a bit bland. Portions were good, both of us were stuffed after this, which was good given I'd expected to need to order more food after reading some of the other reviews here. But it really is a much nicer place for drinks than for food. Not worth it even at 50% off.

Where do i start.......I haven't had a worse experience in Wellington since I've been here (around 10 years). We ordered the tools down platter, beef tataki and chicken and chips kids meal with a strawberry sundae. $65 platter had 3 small ribs, fried chicken, squid rings, 2 bits of bread, mac cheese sticks, seared corn ribs (corn on the cob cut in 4). Right, everything was cold. Chewy over cooked squid. Chicken was so over cooked it was brown and hard. Ribs tasted boiled old and off. Mac cheese bites were actually ok tasting but cold. Toasted bread was cold. It was so bad we couldn't order anything else for the fear of getting sick. When it was served to us, the waitstaff dropped the sauce off it onto the table then actually asked if we wanted it replaced (unbelievably). The sauce was so hard it didn't even spill. Embarrassing all effort. Worst I've had in Wellington. $25 Beef tataki: citrus dressing, truffle mayo, crispy potato straws. The beef was way over cooked, thick cut and Grey (it says thin cut lightly seared beef). It was nasty and also looked old and boiled. Everything else listed on this plate was bad. Again, worst in Wellington. $15 chicken and chips. These were actually really good, and came out at least 10mins after the platter (this is a small plate of chips and fried chicken, again embarrassing it wasn't out at the same time as the platter). The strawberry sundae was in a water tumbler. Just a complete shambles. The wait staff returned to ask how everything was 20mins I to the meal that we didn't touch much of, he was told to get rid of all of it and that it was the worst we've ever had. Now, he returned 10 mins later and asked if we wanted to order anything else which got a swift no way in reply. We only go an apology after going up to settle the bill and still got charged $42. They took 2 drinks off (coffee and wine) and the beef starter. Again what an absolute mockery for customer service and respect. I will never recommend this place to anyone who actually likes good food. Disappointed is an understatement. Precooked food for fast service never works well.

Came here to try their Burger Wellington entry and, for the second year, it was fabulous! The server was kind and enthusiastic, the atmosphere felt very warm and local. Yes, it’s off the beaten path if you live or are staying downtown but I strongly recommend Khandallah Trading Co.

Tuesday night quiz night always enjoyable. Hard to get a table, even harder to get the top prize. Often I go for the special board if eating as there is a good variety and great flavours.

The lamb shank was nice, the vegetables were awesome did not like the premade potato stuff or the salty horrible lukewarm probably warmed up in microwave dessert of apple 'crumble'. The small icecream scoop was the best part of the soggy dessert. Would not recommend.

Five stars for the food !! Lamb shank is a must-try from the main menu. The starter platter has a good variety. Cocktail options are limited, but the bar menu is elaborate. Important note Saturday, they are not open until 11 but probably until 9 pm. The kitchen closes at 8 pm so plan accordingly if you are looking for a long late night.

Went in during the lunch time on Wednesday. I have always loved the place and the food has always been great.
