“The two indian brothers that run this place are very attentive and professional, and service is top-notch. I've been a few times and rate it as one of the best Indian cuisine (& Thai fusion mix) curry houses on the north shore. Food is outstanding, has a very tasty and subtle blend of spice and melt-in-your mouth meat and crisp veg, and is now our favorite place to relax and have a kingfisher on tap. There is also another place upstairs, above them thats always quite busy, which I don't rate at all. Right next to the sea, good for a walk off them superb and delicious calories afterward.”

“I had heard a lot about Lucky Gs and their reputation as the best burger spot in New Zealand, so my wife and I decided to check it out. It's located near Kelston Mall, and there was plenty of street parking available, so we had no trouble finding a spot. It was Sunday afternoon, and the place was buzzing with people dining in and grabbing takeaways. The interior looked amazing. Lots of cool decorations and photos that gave the place a great vibe. The staff were super friendly and enjoyed what they did, which made the atmosphere even livelier. As for the burgers, they lived up to the hype. My wife had the Little G - a tasty, smaller burger that wasn’t too juicy but still really flavourful. I went for the burger with jalapeños and loved the spicy kick. We added a combo for $7, and the potato chips were perfectly cooked. Overall, we enjoyed our visit and can't wait to come back and try more of their burgers!”

But what truly made my visit special was the kindness and humility of the manager. When I was about to leave, it started raining heavily. Seeing that, he kindly offered to drop me wherever I needed to go. Even when I said I would wait outside, he came again and genuinely insisted on giving me a ride in his car. It’s rare to find such good food paired with such a good-hearted person. The manager’s care and hospitality made me feel truly valued as a guest. “The only thing bad about Raglan Boat Charters is that eventually it'll end and you'll have to go home - and that will be a sad time. Raglan Boat Charters is a great experience. The staff are amazing, friendly, informative, helpful, will bend over backwards to help you out or get you on a tour. We did the sunset tour on a perfect night and it was a blast. In a truly Kiwi experince, Fish and Chips were delivered before we left - the perfect entree to what was to come. We took a tikitour around the Raglan harbour where the sights were enjoyed and the history of the harbour explained. Birdlife was plentiful, as were the stingray! The Captain gave us a few of his secret fishing spots - but you have to do the tour if you want to find out more about that. As we cruised around, a wicked soundtrack of sing-along party hits played and created a really fun atmosphere. The cruise was more than 90 minutes - incredible value for money and an experience you'll be wanting to repeat quickly! 10 stars.”

It is obvious to me the chef had put much thought and really crafted each dish to perfection, the delicious, umami flavours, tantalizing all the taste buds. But my highlight of the night had to be the maître d offering us some newly imported umeshu from Japanese at the end. The icing on the cake for a truly delightful dining experience”

“Incredible meal and lovely night out. The service was superb, and food amazing. Considering we had 14 (I think?) courses, what was nice was having the space to feel like relaxed at dinner. We have done plenty of tasting menu's and sometimes you feel like you can't have a conversation without someone popping over and interrupting with something. It can't be easy to get the balance right on this! Wine menu also great, not the biggest selection - they probably don't have the storage space - but they were all super interesting and we enjoyed trying the tasting flight. We were asked what out favourite dish was and it was impossible to pick - it was all delicious.”

The mains were outstanding: the braised lamb shank was melt-in-your-mouth tender, infused with bold, soulful flavour, while the market fish was perfectly cooked and delicately seasoned. Dessert was a highlight—the chocolate fondant, with its warm molten centre and vanilla bean ice cream, was pure indulgence. We ended the night with extra hot oat flat whites, smooth and perfectly made. While the daytime menu brings quality and convenience, the evening experience feels crafted, personal, and elevated—a reflection of Sushil’s passion for food and hospitality. “We came to Devonport for a day trip and had a late lunch at Devonport Indian Hub. The staff greeted us warmly and even entertained our kids with snacks and balloons, which was such a thoughtful touch. The food was absolutely delicious — we ordered the deal of 4 dishes for only $75, and it was great value as wecwere 4 adults with 2 kids. Their customer service is outstanding, and the team is very friendly. They even let our kids play around, which made the experience even more enjoyable. We loved the people here and highly recommend this place!”
