   amazing! i was missing thai food after spending a few weeks in thailand, tried a couple other places in nz but they weren’t as good. i had the chicken panang curry here and it hit the spot perfectly :)

   Good and authentic Thai restaurant, though sometimes it gets quite busy, so you might struggle to find a seat. A little pity that they don’t serve Thai milk tea which is my favorite. P1. Pad Thai — 5/5 Delicious and satisfying! A truly iconic Thai street food. Moist noodles, fried tofu, shrimp, pickled carrots, and fresh bean sprouts stir-fried together in a sweet and sour sauce. It definitely meets my expectations of what good Thai street food should be. Just a small tip — if you’re not a fan of sweet or sour flavors, be cautious when ordering this dish. P2. Thai-Style Fish Cakes with Rice — 4/5 Savory, chewy, and full of fish flavor. I can tell the fish cakes aren’t freshly made — probably fried from frozen ones — but they still taste quite good. P3. Pad See Ew — 4/5 Stir-fried thick, flat rice noodles with chicken, vegetables, and dark soy sauce. It’s flavorful, rich, and has that satisfying wok-fried aroma. Simply great comfort food.

   After spending 6+ months in Thailand, I was really craving some Thai food and this lovely little place did not disappoint. The price is very fair ($20-22) for the amount you get! The Thai Green Curry was delicious (but if you like spice, you need to ask for the level you want otherwise you get tourist/no spice level). The staff are super friendly and sweet, true Thai hospitality. We went back a second time because we couldn’t stop thinking about the food. I leave Auckland today so sadly won’t be able to go back again but I have added this place to my recommendations for anyone travelling to Auckland.

   Best kept secret. We were looking around for a place to eat and came upon this place. Best Tom yum in town and their pork chop with rice was great too. Price is surprisingly cheap. Will surely come back when we’re in the area.

   Five stars for good reason. Excellent food. It looks a bit grungy from the outside and has limited seating, but the food is really good. You step in and your nose tingles with the chilli oil in the air. Really pleasant people just adds to the experience.

   PAD SEE EW & SOM THUM THAI - must have dishes here. A hidden gem in Hobson Street, off the main area of the CBD. But still busy and appeared to have heaps of regular customers, and for a good reason. The food tastes very different to any other Thai place in Auckland, there is a more authentic taste to the food and the ingredients were very fresh. The pad see ew is a flat Noodle stir fry, perfectly cooked and the flavour was perfect being a sweet soy like taste. Plentiful vegetables stir fried in as wellm Som Thum Thai is a distinctive dish that is like a salad which is sour and spicy, cold, with crushed ingredients within it. This is the highlight dish of this place!! Very fresh and deliciously seasoned. Best I ever had compared to any other stores. The staff were super friendly, especially the grandma whom had a friendly smile and can see her calm kind mannerism as she served us. It added a very warm touch to our visit. I will be back again! (probably another time this week, as I can't get over how good this is!) It probably is the best hidden food place in Auckland CBD... And I don't say that lightly!

   Most authentic Thai restaurant in Auckland, with many dishes that cannot be found anywhere else in nz. Language can be a slight barrier but they’re super attentive in getting the order right so it all works out in the end! I love papaya salads and this is place is quite the papaya salad heaven - with 8+ varieties. Can’t wait to return to and eventually try out everything on the menu.
