“I had the pleasure of dining at this exceptional Japanese restaurant in Auckland, and I can confidently say it was one of the most authentic and memorable Japanese meals I’ve had outside of Japan. From the moment I walked in, I was struck by the warm, welcoming atmosphere and the quiet elegance of the space, which set the tone for an outstanding dining experience. The quality of the food was truly top-notch – every dish was beautifully presented, expertly prepared, and rich in flavour. You could taste the care and precision in each bite, from the freshness of the sashimi to the perfectly balanced broths and delicately seasoned vegetables. It’s clear that the chefs are deeply committed to traditional techniques and high-quality ingredients. What stood out just as much as the cuisine was the service. The staff were courteous, knowledgeable, and genuinely kind – attentive without being intrusive, and always ready to explain a dish or recommend a pairing. Their hospitality added a personal, thoughtful touch to the meal, making it feel not just like a dinner, but an experience. If you’re looking for authentic Japanese cuisine in Auckland, this place is a hidden gem.”

“Couldn’t stop myself from eating half of it before I took a photo. Had the halloumi pita and it was OUT OF THIS WORLD. So generous with the filling, it’s common to find other places only fill out the top of the pita but you got a bit of everything in each bite. Not to mention the pita itself!! So soft and fresh, well worth the trip, will definitely be back to try the rest”
“Visited four seasons today with my friends and the food was amazing. It is a must try. The customer service is great. Will come again.”

“We had an incredible experience at HEIZO Teppanyaki. Starting with the friendly service of the owner, chef, and his wife, they provided quality products and great conversation. We were privileged to be the only ones in the restaurant, so we received personalized attention and were able to chat and learn more about the chef and the history of the restaurant. Excellent food and experience, very traditional. Recommended!”
“Great place for dinner! The atmosphere for this place is just right with the lighting going well with everything. The servers were friendly being knowledgeable with the dishes. The Beef Wellington tasted great, the meat itself was cooked perfectly with it melting in my mouth. The oven baked cauliflower was just amazing. The flavours definitely goes well together, having it inspired by Indian spices probably. The price was pretty respectable for the quality of the food, service and place.”
“When I first seen the size of the dishes I said: where do we go to have a pizza or else after as I'm famished. But was I disappointed....?! Yes in a good way. The last bites from the last dish I couldn't even eat it anymore. Each bite from each and every dish was not what it seemed to be....all was bursting of flavour. Your tongue gets super excited and buzzes....it is like a culinary orgasm...so you better wait at least half a minute before you take another bite. And prepare for surprises everything will taste differently than you expect to.And every little detail from plate to arrangement is very expertly chosen. And really you have to allow 2.5hrs for the full 7 dish menu....you can't rush it or you spoil it. So even if outside looks very simple and you would not expect for such a restaurant in that place prepare for Michelin macromolecular type of cuisine to delight you. Well done to Kazuya and the whole team.”
“Nice and cosy place, food is delicious, waiters are mindful. Good atmosphere and overall satisfying experience. Kebabs are a must, mezze is full of flavours, and safran ice cream is definitely worth trying.”
“Phenomenal meal at The Chefs Indian Restaurant last night. This is a true “hidden gem”, tucked away in Howick where you wouldn’t expect it. The food was very high quality - delicious entrees, mains and breads. The staff were friendly and kind and generous. The cost was very fair and great value for money. Vege curries were $17.90 and breads were $5-$6. Highly recommend!”
“My husband and I come here quite often and we always enjoy it! The service is top notch, lovely friendly and attentive staff. My husband orders the same thing every time (the goat gnocchi) as he loves it so much. I recently had the fish of the day, it was salmon and it was so good!! If you are needing a gift for a friend, a voucher to here would be such a good idea. The portions are great, the staff are amazing and the atmosphere is good.”

“We visited today as a family and ordered the Wagyu lunch set. The salad, kimchi, pickles, rice, and the tender, flavorful beef were absolutely delicious and melted in our mouths!!! The girls had so much fun grilling the meat themselves. We also tried the chicken karaage. it was big, crispy, and really tasty. We were so impressed by the kindness of the staff, especially the kind lady who served our table. Her attentive and friendly service made our meal even more memorable. Thank you!!!”

“Lovely atmosphere. Didn’t feel like we were shouting over the noise that other restaurants have, it was good noise wise as I had a raging sore throat so was great that I don’t lose my voice. Me and dad had the beef Wellington and it was cooked to perfection we didn’t need to use steak knives as the normal knives cut like butter. The desserts my sister, dad and I had was very good. The bread was very fresh and hot. Love it so much would definitely recommend to everyone.”
