We took our family and friends there and enjoyed the food. Lovely people. New owner is great awsome to deal with. Came out and meet with us what an experience highly recommend this place and food. Never go wrong will be going back again.
Service was good, and restaurant was pristine and clean. My only feedback is there is too much food colouring in the curries. The curries had flavour just the colouring is not appealing especially when food is eaten with hands. It was nice of the restaurant to give a complimentary cabbage salad with the curries and rice. These weren’t set, it was Ala Carte from the menu and rice comes with all curries. Total cost with a 1x garlic naan (not pictured) was $48
Amazing lunch deal for $14.99 seriously it’s not just the good price but also the quality is top notch. I’m personally not a fan of butter chicken but somehow have been converted. Chicken was tender and flavoursome! Chefs know what they are doing. Highly recommend.
Phenomenal meal at The Chefs Indian Restaurant last night. This is a true “hidden gem”, tucked away in Howick where you wouldn’t expect it. The food was very high quality - delicious entrees, mains and breads. The staff were friendly and kind and generous. The cost was very fair and great value for money. Vege curries were $17.90 and breads were $5-$6. Highly recommend!
It was a lovely evening, we decided to take our dinner at Chef restaurant, the waiter was attentive took our orders on time and the atmosphere was spectacular. Service was outstanding gave us warm plates as we waited for our food to be served. The restaurant manager gave a bowl of salad and papadam on the house, we really appreciate the hospitality.Thanks for making our day. The goat curry was absolutely amazing rate it 10/10 finger licking good and the butter naan was soft and tender. However, well it’s my opinion mutton biryani could have tasted more flavoured with spices as I felt it was a bit dry and just missed a dept of flavour. Moreover, I felt more cheese could have been added to the cheese naan, the feeling of eating stretchy cheese naan would have contributed to a better outcome in terms of the taste. Overall, I had a wonderful experience dining at Chef restaurant. The items on the menu are budget friendly compared to other places. Cant wait to try different cuisines on my next visit!
Love indian curries and The Chefs haa some of the best curries I have ever had. Naan and crispy biscuits are super fresh too! Staffs are very nice and portion is fairly big, my wife and I ordering two curries would have some takeaway for dinner, oh and they can make it really spicy too if you like it hot, just ask for it!
Experience Exquisite Cuisine! Unforgettable Flavors! I recently had the pleasure of dining at a restaurant with my cousin's (Suhas P) family, as it came highly recommended by him. The food at this establishment exceeded all expectations, with impeccable quality, delightful aromas, and visually appealing presentations. Although the service was a bit slow, we soon realized that the food was prepared freshly, justifying the wait. The incredible taste of the dishes made us forget all about the delay. Additionally, they served us a continous supply of mouth-watering chutney alongside the entrees. The servers warmly greeted us and assisted with our order, even offering recommendations when they noticed our indecisiveness. The paneer tikka was absolutely outstanding, and their homemade kulfi was truly divine. And what a sight it was to see Chicken Rahra sizzling on a sizzler plate! I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be returning for another visit!
Came here for lunch today, and enjoyed the food quality and flavors. The ambience is very simple, but the food makes up for that. It took a while for the food to come, and that made me happy, because the dishes were fresh, the chutney and sauces seemed to be in house, and so good. Will visit or takeaway again soon. The server was missing a smile, and no music played.
