Beautiful location with a fantastic view. We had the Chef's Choice set menu with the wine pairing and were happy with our choice. The flavours are incredible, including introducing me to some I have never tasted before... the orange dashi beurre blanc on the fish main was like nothing I've tasted before. I didn't walk away hungry as such, but the dishes were light and maybe could have had little a little more to them. I know many 'Kiwi blokes' who would be looking around for the rest of it. Overall though, lovely experience - it was my wife's birthday and she was very happy - and the fact that I also walked away with 3 bottles of wine speaks volume as to what I thought of that aspect. The service was incredibly friendly and attentive, and we were made to feel "part of it". Would definitely recommend, and we'd be keen to come back and try from the menu at some point.

Such a unique menu and every dish had exquisite flavours. Truly our favourite spot this trip, even beating Queenstown. The beef short rib was unreal! Attentive and prompt service as well.

A lovely visit despite the rainy weather. Service was friendly and professional. The miso butter and fresh bread was sensational and I loved my fish and the cauliflower side. Delicious dessert and the rose wine was crisp and balanced. Feeling like you are in the country when you are actually ten minutes from the city! Delightful! Pictured is the venison and our vanilla dessert.

Our celebration/long lunch at Tussock Hill Vineyard in February 2025 was an absolutely magical experience. With 25 friends & family, it was an intimate affair that felt both exclusive and deeply personal. The vineyard's stunning location, with panoramic views of the vineyard itself and the picturesque expanse of Christchurch below, provided the perfect backdrop for our special day. We decided to stay the night before and after in the Vineyardβs two private chalets. These are also beautifully presented. The day itself, organised with Vicki, was curated perfectly from choice of a brilliant menu & matched wine options. The food, prepared by the incredibly talented Chef Liam Summers, was nothing short of extraordinary. Each dish was a masterpiece, bursting with flavour and beautifully presented. Our guests couldn't stop raving about the magical culinary delights that were served throughout the long lunch. All staff at Tussock Hill, kitchen team, front of house and our personal wait staff were warm, knowledgeable, professional, helpful and attentive. We felt truly pampered. In summary, our celebration at Tussock Hill Vineyard exceeded all expectations. Our guests all commented how well everything went and how much they enjoyed the experience. We recently celebrated a friend's birthday at this restaurant, and we had a fantastic experience! The ambiance was delightful, creating a perfect setting for the occasion. Moreover, we absolutely loved the lamb dishes they served. The flavors were outstanding, and the meat was cooked to perfection. It truly made the birthday celebration memorable.

Brilliance in its finest form, tussock hill encapsulates everything an inner city vineyard could offer. We were blown away by every aspect of the lunch from food, to service to scenes. I will recommend this to anyone I talk to for the foreseeable future. 13 out of a possible 10 points. Will be back for more.

We enjoyed the wine flights followed by 3 small plates. It was such a delicious meal with even better wine. The sweet Riesling was divine and we left with 3 bottles, one offered chilled to enjoy as soon as we got back to our hotel. Fantastic experience, highly recommend

Everything from start to finish was amazing. Came here for my birthday and loved it! The bread to start was super crispy on the outside and lovely and soft inside. The pumpkin salad was so beautiful to look at as well as being so tasty. We shared the flounder, super crispy potatoes and cucumber salad, all of which were awesome. The wines were damn good too, we started with some flights and then had some glasses after. We ended up taking some wine away, some beautiful Pinot gris. I would say Tussock Hill is a definite Christchurch dining highlight.
