“Fantastic & Free!! Stayed a night in my Non Self Contained Van, I love freedom camping, this place is fabulous, heaps of room. Flush toilets.”
“Great location for an airport hotel and surprisingly great food great view and wonderful staff. Highly recommend this as a hotel to stay before or after your flight. Beds were very comfortable and spacious rooms with good showers. Buffet breakfast is a must with great selections and as a platinum member we were given barista coffee. Unfortunately there wasn’t an executive lounge for us but still a great hotel.”
“I really enjoy the Hoyts Lux experience. Its obvious the higher end of expense but we use as a treat every now and then. What i particularly enjoy is the personalised attention from when you are greeted at the door right through to ordering food and drinks. Its nice to feel special once in a while sitting in a recliner, drinking a cold alcoholic beverage and waiting for the sliders to arrive. Its definitely the highlight of my week.”
“One of the nicest places in the city for Sunday high tea brunch. French creperie with multiple choices of both sweet and sour French crepes, including some vegan options. There are plenty of suggested options, but you can also go wild and create your own one. Crepes are really amazing, very tasty, good size portions and amazing taste. It’s really great that there is vegan options available, made of buckwheat. If you have not enough of sugar you can finish with a great desert selection. Coffee is slightly bitter and not the best blend , but tea selection is perfect.”
“We went to The Old Leithfield Hotel for dinner on a busy Saturday night (super rugby final) with our 5 month old baby. Even though we didn't have a booking the friendly wait staff went out of their way to accommodate us and made sure we were comfortable. We both had the roast which was generous and delicious. The beef was tender and the veges perfect it was the best pub experience with a young baby, and the best roast beef. We also had the salt and pepper squid entree which was fantastic. Perfectly tender and crispy! Thank you very much to the team at The Old Leithfield Hotel.”
“Amazing team, great food delicious, and well-proportioned, sauces were on point definitely recommended to family and friends”
“Great service, food was excellent will definitely come back again.”
“Japanese ramen and love the taste, Spicy Miso Ramen is the best one if you are spicy lover. The staffs are friendly, will be my default ramen in Christchurch. :)”
“We came here based off a recommendation and will definitely be back! We ate early, so there wasn't much of an atmosphere and the service was a little relaxed - which is fine, as we weren't in a rush. The food was out of this world! The portions are huge and the flavour in everything was just amazing. Our table each had something different and everyone thought that their dish was the best. We honestly loved this place and can't wait to visit again!”
“Wonderful food and excellent service, we had the Lamb Rump with potato gratin and the Chicken and Bacon pasta. Generous portions and very tasty. Can thoroughly recommend. A visit to Zest Timaru is a must.”
“A short Gondola ride up to the top of Mnt Cavendish, a great outlook over the city and a view of some sheep in the paddocks below, but it was the view at the top that looks towards Lyttleton Harbour and the city is spectacular! Very smooth ride and not really that high off ground,(I still wouldn't want to fall out, though), but within reach of some with height fears.”
“The generosity of the owner is just unreal. As a Ta walker we were allowed to pitch our tent on the backyard for free. Acces to the bathroom and even the possibility to charge up out stuff overnight. Before we left she even gave us some leftover from the kitchen. Food is amazing. Gotta go there and see for yourself but wish her the best of luck with her beautiful cafe !”
“I love going to the farm market on Sundays when I'm free. I always find new things like cheeses, salami, pastries, relish that are worth trying. There are also several fresh vegetable options at a good price. It's also a good place for coffee in the morning. I always leave with a bag full of healthy ingredients to consume during the week. An important tip is to bring cash. If you forget, you can exchange it there, paying a fee. Some sellers accept cards. There is also live music, which makes the atmosphere more pleasant. The market is inside a covered area and there is plenty of grass outside if you want to bring your pet. You can also find organic vegetables, options gluten free, plants, flowers, cheese, eggs...”
“Beautiful campsite, popular with big families with kids staying for up to two weeks in big tents, dog friendly, water only from the river. Lots of nice day walks to do in the area, the Windows walk is worth it!”
“A very nice Walk along the river , scenic view, easy paveway , good for all ages , not a big park”
“Birdsong, natural beauty, an easy path, this is a fabulous walk. Perfect bike ride for 5 year olds. Dogs allowed, on leads. Surprises provided by creative maimai and artistic fairy houses. Picnic areas by the main car park and rest seats around the lake, allow us to soak in the views. Loved it.”
“Everything was absolutely delicious, the naan was just perfect and their meat to curry ratio was perfect unlike some other places that I’ve noticed are a bit stingy on their meats.”
“We took our hybrid in to get the drivers door window fixed. It was super easy to get it checked, they found the issues and communicated options and costs with us and fixed it quickly with no problems. We also asked to get a WOF done at the last minute and they took care of it very quickly. Great service and price, we will definitely go back.”
“Definitely recommend, quite unique experience. Note that you cannot take photos inside. It's coldish but not that much. A light long sleeve blouse over usual summer clothes will do. Consider that boat is wet.”

“Hosted a baby shower at Patio Rose recently for a large group of ladies. It was such a great choice of venue and the high tea eats and treats were delicious. Marija and her team did a fantastic job making us feel special and that the Piccolo room was setup up before we arrived. Highly recommend this hidden gem!”
“Been here many times. Parking can be a little hard to find when town is open, so arrive early to give yourself time to find a park etc. This visit was for the Pink Floyd experience Fantastic night. Great set up. Clean facilities.”

“Absolutely amazing!! I loved the guided walk and learned so much about Māori culture!! However, the only thing that made this trip worth it was our tour guide, Ngati (NA • tsi). He was so kind and knowledgeable. He even knew the Māori cultural meaning of every object. He also walked us through the Māori prayers for safety before and after the walk. If the New Zealand weather catches you by surprise, don’t worry, because Ngati will hand you anything he has to help.Strongly recommend requesting him for your Hell’s Gate guided walk.”
