Great place to take the family the kids and the dog. Watch for mozzies, need spray. Toilets a bit rough. 1 lot flushable, others not so can get a bit smellie.

Fantastic & Free!! Stayed a night in my Non Self Contained Van, I love freedom camping, this place is fabulous, heaps of room. Flush toilets.

Geat place to stay, or even just a day visit. It's pretty quiet. Lots of trees around for shade. Toilets are clean. The water isn't drinkable. Check before you go in the stream for toxic algae.

There are 3 campsites to choose toilets and rubbish bins will come back again as it a good place to freedom camp

Always a beautiful free camp to go to just out of Christchurch 25 mins. Lots of birds sounds and this time the river looked really lovey and clear..normally has algi bloom of some sort..plenty of room to camp and clean toilets and rubbish disposal..so please DON'T dump toilet paper and WET wipes by the trees thank you. No NEED for littering..Im sick of finding that sort of thing. Look after this place Please and have some respect ok.

Loved it out here!!Clean toilets. The only thing is you have to make sure you bring your own water as the water there is not potable but you can go to Leeston and refill up at the fire station or download the app refill N.Z and use the locations available for drinking water. Also no showers but the freshwater creek is awesome lol ....suitable for kids as water is shallow. Definately go back there again.
